Thanks for the information.
Clothing mods tend not to have scripts or make world edits, either, so they can safely be installed mid-playthrough, as well. Removing them isn't the most harmful thing to game stability but then again, it is never a good idea to remove anything with unique Reference IDs mid-playthrough.
There, fixed it for you. 🤪
Remember we are talking to people whom we can fairly safely assume has next to no modding experience or the ability to read stickied instructions, so KISS is best.
It was the first time I've ever seen a post by him, usually I hear about them secondhand.
Unless stated otherwise by the mod author, it is save to add ANY mod mid playthrough.
And as always backup your saves

just read every mod they should tell you. Many mods are in deed safe to add or remove mid play through just depends.
I have removed plenty of armors / clothes etc... mods with no issue along with tons of other mods like standalone companions- even a couple that were not (make sure they are dismissed first and preferably wait 24hours in game), and a loading screen pack, and likely a few other mod types.
Landscape mods can be finicky one the biggest things that are still safe to remove *at times* but again make sure you no where near the location I mean be stupid to remove a house that your in, but just saying.
The biggest ones you don't want to remove are script ones (most so big ones) though even then creators sometimes have put in ways to do so, again just read mod descriptions they almost always say or are obvious enough (any worth downloading at least) and just think ahead of time if this mod is something you know you want (do a test game if need be) and just don't remove it as overall typically there no real reason to remove a mod.
----? I just removed some because I got tired of like seeing them in my blacksmith options or their pointless space with no interest of ever using (got wings forgot I had the mod, found out way later I didn't care for them and removed), and wanted different loading screen so changed it.
Or, at least, ask in the forum first.
FauxFurry gave the best advice KISS and I would add CYA.
Better safe than sorry.
