Weird water reflection
I'm having this weird water reflection where it looks like there's a line dividing the reflection depending on how I look to the water.

Notice in the screenshots below:

In this first one I'm looking directly to the bridge and everything is fine.

In this second one I look slightly below and the reflection is cut in half.

And finally this third picture you clearly see the line that divides where the reflection is different.

In these screenshots I have all my mods enabled but I already tried disabling them all one by one to see if any of those were causing it to no success. It turns out this isn't so visible with vanilla water textures because they are too blurry but when I installed Realistic Water Two this poped out because the water is cleaner.

Here's my mod list:

USSEP
Lanterns of Skyrim
Even Better Quest Objectives
Combat Evolved
Vigor
Run for your Lives
When Vanpires Attack
Book Covers Skyrim
Day night city lights
realistic conversations
Enhanced Blood Textures
Wet and Cold
No Snow under the roof
Realistic water two
True Storms
SMIM
Noble Skyrim Textures HD 2K
aMidianBorn Book of Silence - Weapons and Armor
Superior Lore Friendly Hair

My System Specs:

CPU i5 4570 3.2 GHz
GPU GTX 670 2 GB
RAM 8 GB
Windows 8.1
Latest drivers installed.

Any idea if this is a vaniila thing?

Can anyone test this in their game to see if this happens also?

Well, now it's SkyrimPrefs.ini. In your previous post you said Skyrim.ini, *not* SkyrimPrefs.ini.
Still, if I insert this under the [Water] section in SkyrimPrefs.ini nothing changes whatsoever. Even if I use BethIni: no changes of the bad reflections at all.

could try setting bScreenSpaceReflectionEnabled=1 to 0

Well, that's what I already wrote above.
Of course this "helps" because the Screen Space Reflections shader is exactly what causes the problem in the first place. So of course, if you turn it off, the artifacts vanish. But then your screen space reflections vanish as well.

turn reflect sky off with bethini, if that doesnt satisfy you install particle patch aio http://enbseries.enbdev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1499

thats all i did to eleviate most of the uglyness, you can try installing a different water mod
realistic water 2 fantasy preset works "ok" for me

It seems to be a vanila thing and indeed disabling SSR makes the effect go away.
Personally i never noticed that effect in game so i don't care. Would be nice if there was an actual proper fix though.

Bethesda needs to fix this. It ruins my immersion. :steamsad:

I found a way to fix this, made a short video with instructions in the discription: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfM4EfHuGcY

Erm, no.
If you give a thought about what you are doing by setting fWaterSSRIntensity to a value near zero, it's just basically turning Screen Space Reflections completely off.
As I said before, this is no *fix*, it's simply avoiding the problem.
It's as if I fixed a problem I had with the radio in my car by turning the radio off. It's no solution, it's not even a workaround.

Once again: This is a problem with the SSR shader. This *cannot* be fixed by whatever ini values; it can only be fixed by Bethesda (or someone else) debugging / rewriting this shader.

As i showed in the vid, the ssr is still applied to anything else, See the floor tiles in the collage.

In the discription i wrote to mess with these setting. This will "fix" your problem. I got mine set to 0.5. In MY setup I don't see any lines anymore.. This is taking into account that everyone might use a different ENB, Water mod, Grid settings, shadow settings etc.. Tweak this setting yourself and you can "fix" your problem.. Your welcome
It is not a problem with the shader, its a problem with the implementation of screen space reflection. Go to the forum, steam community hub is for help from the community. If you wan't to wait for Bethesda to fix it, be my guest.:steammocking:

:-) I see what you mean. Thanks!

I found a solution to this bug in the comment section of a video reporting it:

1) Open the Skyrim.ini
2) Under [display] write/eddit the value of fWaterSSRIntensity=0.0001

I am using Realistic Water 2. Water still has reflexion, doesn't have the strange "cut" when i look down, and I would even say the general reflections are slightly better.

Just in case anybody else comes across this thread while googling the water issue(s) ...

fWaterSSRIntensity=0.0001 as posted above will fix the black/dark line that you often get when looking out over a water surface.

For the issue of mismatched water surfaces though, the fugly dividing line that consistently appears in various places, there's a mod on Nexus called "Skyrim Water Flow Fix" which sorts it out perfectly.
