I don't know about anyone else, but if he told me that it was like 20 hours earlier, maybe more.
It has to be one of the main complaints I have about the game so far, and it's a strange one; there is too much.
I have like 30-40 quests now in my journal, quests and misc. stuff included.
Now I love having plenty to do, but I don't remember hardly any of these, where I got them, who from, or even what I'm supposed to do or why.
I just follow quest arrows now to the closest destination, and do what the quest log says.
That's why I got in trouble for burning ALL the bee hives rather than just 3 for the thieves guild. It said burn 3, I just let rip with my flamethrower and burned them all. It had been around 10 hours and a lot of other filler stuff had happened since then, so I couldn't remember him saying that
Maybe it tells you in a conversation but the quest pointer is directly on high hrothgar, which has already been stated.
And as I said before, it's like 20+ hours since I was told to go for this quest, since I have so many other things to do as well, I have just been wandering and doing stuff as I go.
I just decided it's time to do a bit more story questing before I continue to try and reduce my quest list, which is at least 40 quests long, most of them totally forgettable and meaningless, like "take satchel to X" and "bring book to Y".
Not to mention, I skip most of the dialogue anyway, as it's poorly written and even more poorly acted most of the time.
skips dialogue
doesnt know where to go
Well that makes sense.
And I don't skip the whole thing, just most of it. He said go here, I go there. Maybe I heard him say to start somewhere else, but that was over 20 hours ago. With all the other filler I have taken on since then, how am I supposed to remember that?
Git gud Noob
I dunno, maybe RPG's arent for you if you just go from marker to marker. Isnt that boring ?
I disable Quest markers by default.
