Getting weird black square rendering error
Hi folks, I've been getting a weird rendering error that looks like this:

http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/191795134860139907/9B7441C365AA7335428971C27E1BDFFD91272D8C/

The game runs fine, as it always has, and I can still move around and here things, but there is a giant rectangle on my screen that is just black, nothing is being rendered there. This started happening to me just today. I was wondering if anyone else is seeing this, maybe it's patch related?

Before you ask, yes I am using mods. But I was using them yesterday without any problems, and the only new mods I have downloaded today are new armor sets.

My specs:
Intel Core i7-4790K
Nvidia GTX 970
16 GB RAM

I am not using Inigo. Reloading save from before the black square helped me. Also I started a fresh character, but I don't think that's what actually fixed the problem.

Same here :steamsad: save - reload also for the temporary fix ... maybe its from the nvidia drivers ? i dont know

Reload the new save and save again and exit. Remove those last mods you added and play from that save. If gone then you have found your issue. But still there you can remove that save or you can use it for testing, play and exit without saving over it. You may need to check all your mods.

Sorry to necro this thread many years later, but I think I know what causes this black square. It normally happens to me when I'm casting a healing spell during the day time when I am taking sun damage from the better vampires mod. I think it's if you're using a character overall mod which adds make up or new skin textures to your characters skin.

But the sun damage effect doesn't work very well with those mods, and for whatever reason when I'm casting healing spells while sun damaging is happening, that huge black square appears over the arm and hands area.

edit: although I see op's screen shot was at night, it never happens for me at night time. It's always 100% in the day after casting a healing spell.
