Stuff flying around/noise of things flying around
Sometimes, when I open doors inside buildings, objects just go ape sh*t, flying all over the place, and sometimes, when i'm inside a building, i can hear objects just flying around (i can hear it objects flying around hitting things and stuff but can't actually see it) and stuff. what's causing this? Is there a fix for it?

You turned vsync off and the physics engine doesn't like that. Re-enable vsync and the problem will be corrected.

How do I enable vsync? I didn't even notice my game was running at 144 FPS.

Nah, i'm using vsync, fps is always at 60 and i've heard stuff moving around too when entering sometimes. Flying around tho probably not, but definetely moving a bit.

The physics engine starts to break down after your frame rate hits 60, and can go totally haywire when it goes above 100.

You need to turn your monitor to 60 FPS. Go into Nvidia control panel and change your FPS on the monitor you play on to 60HZ instead of 144. I had the same exact issue and when I changed it, it fixed it. You don't need Vsync on, Firefox is wrong. I have a Gsync Monitor, it's your FPS that's causing the issue. Message me if you can't figure it out.

Did you change the presetinterval= setting in the ini, OP?

If you are using a monitor that has either 120Hz or 144hz, when using V-sync, the game will lock the FPS to either 120 or 144 if you have a good rig. I set everything to ultra and still have a locked 120FPS. This causes the plates and books etc to fly around the rooms. Outside doesn't cause so many issues though.

If it bothers you or you get the odd crash, either cap the FPS; you can use Nvidia Inspector to do that. For AMD, they have something in their catalyst control panel for it I think. Something called FRTC (Frame Rate Target Control), but works with only certain cards.

Or, set your monitor Hz to 60. Then the game will cap at that number of FPS.

Hope this helps :-)

The Nvidia Control Panel also has another option you can use. Set the Vsync for the game to Adaptive (Half Refresh Rate), and turn off Vsync in the game itself. Apparently having both running can cause issues with water.

stutter is removed and fixed physics for high hz/gsync by changing the vsyncinterval to 0 and adding the havok engine line that suits your monitor hz max 120fps or you get physics issues, see https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/comments/5aa7w5/confirmed_120fps_fix_for_skyrim/
been playing with this 'problem' for a while, had fun with it now its just annoying and theres no option to change vsync and last time i changed a file i had to reinstall the game

I'm having this issue as well but with some comical results. When I went into the companions building in whiterun, a random plate shot from out of nowhere and instantly killed me. I laughed my ass off at that seeing as that was my first death. Who knew a plate was more deadly than a dragon? 😂😂😂

weird enough I have also a 144 hz monitor mine runs also on 144 hz ... however ingame it just runs at 60 fps ... capped by the game itself. No third party solution. Also it's funny however it can very well break quests.
