You generally need to alt-tab once, then alt tab again to actually fully tab out of the game, and you're not able to see the target tab you're tabbing to, so you got to do it on instinct. I've tabbed out of it a lot, and it's just a PITA, but fully possible.
I handled it by holding Alt+Tab and then clicking the screen I wanted with my mouse.
Release alt when happy.
All of Bethesda's games have had problems with Alt Tabbing, as far back as Oblivion. It's just something people need to avoid doing. I'm not sure why people think it's a big issue, either you're playing the game or you're not. If you're not, then just exit completely. It's not a huge hassle rebooting the game later on if you decide you want to play again.
For some reason nvidiaInspector won't cap my fps unless I run in full screen causing weird s*** on my 144hz monitor and I refuse to manually change refresh rate before and after playing SE :( Already started using Pad because I can't stand sprint toggle ( bad/slightly numb pinky finger means accidental activation without noticing and just awkward in general)
I can alt tab now but it breaks my fps limiter meaning I need to quit and restart. In-game web browser it is for now.
