curious about fugitives

so far i've had about 3 fugitives come to me by putting items in my backpack like Dwarf guantlets of major (something) (will have to look), and an elven mase that deals 20 pts of stamina dmg. now after he/she does that, do they ever come back to get the item or not?

I usally have that happen once. I just tell the hunter chasing the guy where he went, let him deal with it and walk in the other direction wistling away. The stuff does not show as stolen in your inventory so you do what you want with it.

I don't know what really happens, since Hunters usually catch up with the fugitive so they get shanked, that or I just murder the Fugitive then kill the Hunter as well. It's something that I do, since bounties often get removed if you kill anything you attacked.

I just give the thing back to the hunter. Its usually trashy stuff anyways. And no, Ive never had them come back asking for their stuff back.

Mainly because he never survives in order to reclaim it. Any time I've had that encounter I just wait around, and the Hunter inevitably kills the fugitive. So I end up with free loot as well as the magic item.
