Elemental Fury Bug: Special Edition
******************************************* Solution *****************************************

I went to the first weapons dealer I could find. Bought two UNENCHANTED one-handed weapons. Equipped one in each hand. Readied my weapons so that the annoying sound played. Used the Elemental Fury shout, and then waited for it to wear off. The sound disappeared.

******************************************* Solution ******************************************

So during the original Skyrim, I never had the pleasure of experiencing the Elemental Fury shout bug, mostly because I never used the Elemental Fury shout. I've always played sword and shield characters, and never experimented with dual wield at all.

Well rest assured, this bug is alive and well in Skyrim SE. After spending a few hours researching this bug, it seems that a ton of people have gotten stuck with this annoying bug and there were several things people tried in the original Skyrim that don't carry over into Skyrim SE.

Namely, the "sexchange" console command and werewolf transformation no longer cancel out the never-ending sound of the Elemental fury shout when you get this bug. (EDIT: See Post #2 below. This actually works for a specific case of this bug.)

However, it seems I got lucky and found a simpler solution that actually worked for me. I went to the first weapons dealer I could find. Bought two UNENCHANTED one-handed weapons. Equipped one in each hand. Readied my weapons so that the annoying sound played. Used the Elemental Fury shout, and then waited for it to wear off.

The sound disappeared.

I will be using the Elemental Fury shout a lot during this playthrough, so I fully expect that this bug will return at some point. If I were a betting man, I'm just going to say that I'm guessing this fix won't work for everyone just because this is a really odd bug and that's the nature of odd game bugs from my experience.

Anyway, good luck. I hope this fix works for you.

This worked for me. I had this issue and it got to the point where the sound was always there. I tried this fix at that point but It did not help at all. I ended up loading a save two hours prior (where the sound was only present when the weapon was out). I bought two daggers and did the shout. Once the shout wore off, the sound went away. :golden:

Thanks for posting the fix. I am super glad I decided to load a slightly older save and give it a go. The unofficial mod fixes this issue as well, but disables achievements in the process.

Glad I could help. I've had to fix this stupid bug tons of times since I posted this.
It seems like there are actually two bugs wrapped into one with this bug.

If the sound stays on all the time, regardless of whether your weapons are drawn or not, it means the sound is actually bound to your character. In that case, the sexchange console command actually works for fixing this.

If the sound only happens when one or both of your weapons are drawn, it means it's bound to your weapon slot, and the fix in the OP seems to work...so far so good anyway.

Happy stabbing! :steamhappy:

My pleasure. It’s too bad Bethesda hasn’t fixed this yet.

For me what fixed it was simply dying and reloading a save, don't know if reloading would also fix it by itself, didn't think of it somehow.

What's the fix to stop someone from necroing an 8 year old thread?

They had relevant information to add. What's wrong with that?

And damn that was a great year!

Ooph. Sorry about that mate. Just curious, did you try the sexchange console command fix at all? Type ~ and then enter sexchange
