Strange black graphical artifact takes over my screen/world.

Has anyone else's game been overtaken by these weird black graphics in Skyrim SSE?
I think it might be a video card issue. I do have my card overclocked but this was never a problem in Oldrim. This seems to occur in stressful areas like Riften and near Warzones and am wondering if this has occurred to anyone else and if they have an AMD card. I have an R9 390

well this version puts a lot more strain on your vidcard, try it without the overclock.

must be a hardware problem.

You're overclocked too high so your card is artifacting. Lower the overclock a bit, hopw your card doesn't toast man. :(

either overclocking of missing updated mod parts if you have some installed and need now the updated ones.

Resetting my graphics card to default didn't do anything. Still getting the black artifacting.

It doesn't happen in any other game though including my much more heavily modded pre-SSE Skyrim. I don't think my card is dying, but something is wrong.

I dont have mods or overclock and I have an R9 390 sapphire. same problem. I think its only R9 390 GPUs this problem affects.

Well its a relief to know I'm not the only one (I also have the Sapphire 390). On reddit, another user said they were having the same problem on a 980 TI

I have a 980 Ti set to ultra and not having any problems of this nature. The only incident so far is an NPC was talking to the Whiterun blacksmith, only he wasn't there (visually). I have heard of your problem in the old Skyrim. One of the causes was due to hardware. CPU, RAM, GPU having bottlenecking issues.
