What is the best place to build a house in your opinion? in terms of the scenery/location around the house. falkreath, morthal, or dawnstar?

It's really up to you. I've tried two of the three locations myself and prefer Lakeview. It's more wooded area, has the lake nearby and it's only a couple minutes walk from Riverwood. The one you get nearish Solitude's claim to fame is a great view of Solitude itself, but liike it and the one closer to windhelm, they're in the more snow heavy areas, where as Lakeview is more southern so it doesn't snow as much. Each house also has a unique thing, Lakeview has a beehive, for instance.

I like Heljarchen Hall. For me it has the best location of the three, central on the map, and close enough to Whiterun.
But the Falkreath manor has the best-looking environment and I think it is perfect if you decide join the Dark Brotherhood.

Why not all of them? It's not that hard to come up with enough gold to build all three. Though personally I think the Morthal location is the best. It has the Fish Hatchery, making it a good place for alchemical ingredients.

Falkreath was by far my favourite. Beautiful surroundings, mostly warm and sunny. That lake. Felt like a proper home. I did eventually (and reluctantly) move the family over to Heljarchen though as the location is much more convenient (being quite central).

Never did like the house up near solitude for some reason. Always felt too cold and bleak, so I only ever used it as a rest stop when passing through the area.
