Snow Veil/ Speaking with Silence Mission

after frey unlocks the door we both walk in. i cant walk past the first pillar after going down the stairs (any direction/speed)- it freezes have to force quit.
have tried mod free, different saves, waiting, sleeping, fast travel, etc. i've even console command-ed to skip to the next chamber (coc snowveilsanctum02) and again can move a little but too far and this time it CTD.
obv i cant continue with the mission/thieves guild. anyone run into this at all yet? i've only read about issues not unlocking the door or a cutscene not playing.

I have the same problem. Was googling this just yesterday when it happened and to no avail.
There seems that there is no fix for this, i've tried several things to get past this but nothing solves it.
The game freeze at exact same place as you.
Only thing i can do to not make it freeze is by looking into the ground and walk backwards in that room but it freezes directly if I look up the slightest.

this is what i had to do*:

setstage tg05 200
player.additem 6f266
player.unlockword 5fb95

*talk to mercer frey and get him to unlock the door. go back outside. type the console commands above. setstage completes the mission, 6f266 adds the ship that you find inside, and 5fb95 adds the word wall that you cant get to (this code is for the zun version of that word. depending on your progress you may have to add the second or third instead of the first (zun)).

mercer will still be there after it says mission complete. ignore him and he'll mutter something and walk away. dont try to kill him. the next mission (i think- id: tg07) glitched for me as well and i had to setstage tg07 200. the rest of the quests worked and mercer did what he was supposed to as well as the rest of the game so far.

obviously the best thing to do is to just reinstall and start over, which may have the chance of saving your save file. im just gonna deal with it for this playthru and reinstall/start over when im done.

Okey, i've tried to reinstall the game and started up where i left of but it did not solve anything. I will try this when i have the time !

good to know information, thanks for sharing. so we know for sure our saves themselves (along wtih our initial game d/l- i guess) are corrupted.

So i have encountered this bug AGAIN. Now with the quest "The Forsworn Conspiracy".
When I get arrested by the 3 guards it just get blackscreen.
Then i tried to just console it to start the other quest and i start in the jailcell. But this time the same happened as the first room in "Speaking with Silence Mission". The game just freezes up directly..
Can you try it out ?

i've accepted that quest on this playthru earlier but havent done it yet. i will do it asap and get back to you.

did you end up trying the mission 'The Pursuit' in the thieves guild quests that i had said earlier? it crashes after entering Frey's House?

and to make sure i understand more about your Forsworn Conspiracy question--

200 is the quest code to complete the mission did you try that? i noticed it only had a list to 100. so type setstage ms01 200 and lmk.

the mission typically goes black after youre caught by the guard to wake up in the cell after it loads. did it just not load or did it freeze or CTD?

more freezes in thieves guild missions:
-Mercer frey's mansion(steal his plans)
Can get around using tcl.
-Twilight scepulcher(return the skeleton key)
Can't get around, must use console commands to complete.

So, i did get more random freezes going through theives guild misions. Like ALOT.
@Dark_Messiah - The game have frozen for me at these places aswell.
I used consol commands to complete them all.
I have also gotten this freezes when i am out and about in the world of skyrim. Not just inside dungeons or anything like that.
For 1 the game runs poorly so i have gone around and doing all these fixes with V-sync and other stuff for the game to run properly and even with these fixes the game still runs bad at some places.
And now all these random freezes.
I have to restart my PC every time this happens cuz i cant get to desktop. So frustrating.

BTW if you read this. The mod SMIM makes the game freeze. As fast as i removed it it started to work.
It seems like SMIM is bugged. or WAS. Still, after an update of SMIM it did not freeze anymore, tho i have encountered more freezes on other places now.

sorry i havent been on a lot.. i've been very busy. i was wondering about that because i have some mesh problems at the theives cemetery entrance being a light blue color.. i removed smim and it didnt fix that so i didnt try any more... glad you did. i still plan on trying the 'forsworn conspiracy' and will let you know. (:
