I have had issues installing mods from NexusMods. I manually add them to the folder they are supposed to go in. They get detected in the mod list but dont seem to be working. Not with these mods but with others I tried getting

I... third(?) Total Character Makeover. Makes every NPC look really good.

Install it with Nexus Mod Manager. It will make everything easy.

Would be better if you used the Nexus Mod Manager

You can use NMM to download the mods aswell, but if you open NMM, go to the "mods" tab, then click the big green plus (+) you can manually add mods saved on your PC to the program. You add the entire 7zip or rar file, not the extracted folder(s).

Common mistake most ppl make is to install the "top downloaded" NPC mods on the Nexus, however if you look further down the list of pages you would find a much better All in One NPC overhaul mod, WICO.

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2136/?

In my opinion, a thousand times better than the MakeOver (which makes all the faces look platic).

Install it yourself and you will see how much of a difference it makes.

Using a different mod =/= mistake.

WICO changes the ENTIRE look of some NPC's. So it's much more subject to taste. For instance, it makes Tullius look like an old man who belongs in a retirement home, not on the front lines of a battlefield.

I tried that one to begin with, i thought it made the faces look too "orange" even using showracemenu ingame, and adjusting the skin tone to zero, was still too orange..
