Is there a permanent fix for this texture glitch in whiterun?

Restarting the game helps, but it appears again eventually.

I get that same problem if I set "distant object detail" to ultra in advanced settings "view distance". Try changing it to High and see if it fixes it.

Usually occurs after fast traveling. Did you try the unofficial patch? Its always been considered essential.

Didn't try it. Does it disable achivements in SE? Is it retroactive? Will it fix bugged misc objectives I already have in my journal (like "report to the jarl of whiterun during CW)?

Same problem here. Using unofficial patch, SMIM, Ordinator and a few other popular mods since start, so can't say if they're helping or hurting.

Thankfully, re-zoning or re-loading usually fixes.

In hindsight I should've at least tried vanilla SE. :steamfacepalm:

I get this too, but only if I fast travel to Whiterun. Oddly, if I fast travel to Dragonsreach it doesn't happen.

Mods have nothing to do with this. Restarting the game usually fixes it for me. I've also have encountered this after fast travelling to high hrothgar once.

Purple textures = You are reaching your RAM limit.

What is your RAM? If you have 8 GB RAM you are going to be fine but if you have less you are gonna see this alot.

They aren't purple as you can see, mate. And I have bloody 16 GB of RAM. It's like the strongest part of my rig.

32 Gigs on my machine and the same thing is happening to me after a mysterious 0 kb update earlier today. Before I had everything maxed out, no problems other than having to force frame rate to 60hz in my nVidia console.
I think he means VRAM on your GPU; although usually missing textures = purple; VRAM limit = black

Skyrim without the unoffiicial patch, has alot of bugs. Its worth reading up on. Yes it will disable achievements. fortunately theres also a mod for that http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/245/? :steamhappy:

Fuzzy up there says unofficial patch isn't helping him with that, so I'll refrain from using it since it disables the chivos (which feels kinda wrong btw, original skyrim doesn't have that issue, right?). I wanted to get a toggle helmet mod eventually, so that's rather unfortunate.

That's high hrothgar door with subject glitch. Behind this texture however hides the real door with normal textures. That's what really weird about it. Like there is a low res photo of the door placed right before the real door. Same goes for the door to warmaiden's in wr.

Just enter a building and leave it, it will be fixed.
