Will updates break my mods?
I''ve just been made aware that a Skyrim SE update is in the works. But in my experience of modding the OG Skyrim, I've never had an update to find this out for myself. So is there a chance a new update could make my mods not work, or even corrupt my save because it's modded?

peronally ive had the SSE running flawlessy since the start.. 7 mods like smim, weather, textures, character mesh, etc and id rather not be the ginea pig especially as corrupt saves could be an issue..im gonna be posting vids soon of the modded version running at 100fps..it looks pretty cool..for me its dont touch if aint broken..this is just my experience so far..shame everyone cant experince this..PS i havnt even installed the unofficial patch yet..so lets see how long it'll last

Updates will always Break mods. This is a common knowledge.
Though it varies truthfully but it will cause problems ingame so Modders must always take note and update their mods to the game updated versions.

I see. I can deal with this as long as I know my saveis safe. Should I make copies to be safe, or am I good?

Darn! forgot! I play FO4 vanilla. I'm always amused by the howling that happens with every update. Played original skyrim with mods and just got some for the new one. booo hoo. now I will be howling too.

Dont worry too much about updates I doubt bethseda will do many more than the coming update to fix the horrible audio quality. This game is pretty much as is for the most part.

Yeah, I heard they were mainly doing some audio fixes, so maybe my mods will be ok. On a side, note; does anyone know when the update is dropping? I wanna know when to backup my saves.

Assume that it will and brace yourself. This can happen for odd and random reason. I seen odds effects from updates. Graphic glitches from Audio updates and the like.

You only really have to worry about updates breaking mods if you're running SKSE. Since SKSE64 isn't even out yet... I'm sure you're fine.

Not currently using SKSE. I was using it in the OG, but I forgot how the process of installing it goes, and I forgot what it even does lol

Always back up your saves is a good idea. If you set Steam>Settings>Downloads "Download Restrictions" to a time between some wee hour of the morning like 4-5am, then updates won't auto kick off unless you are playing at that same wee hour in the morning.

A time when you don't have the computer on is probably best, but if you are playing at 4am you can temporaily change it for a minute, and then you can set the time back to 4am-5am and start the updates yourself once you have looked up other peoples success with the particular updates.

This is a great idea. I guess to be safe, I'll backup my saves each night before shutting off my PC until the update drops.
