Mods can be gotten at nexus or bethesda website, though there are not nearlt as many mods (yet) for the SE version as there is for the original version.
As for Skyrim SE dont expect any mods right away, stick with OG if want to continue with your mods :) Hoped this helped in any way

I think thats the best idea, now that i think about it since I can just get shadders installed for the original.
There are already some good mods i mean def 90% less than Skyrim regular but i keep adding mods daily only at like 22 mods
But For the Original Skyrim SE is A seperate Game From skyrim / Skyrim SE comes with all the dlc you would still have to buy the original skyrim's dlc
it is very subjective, but I like the new lighting, DOF and god rays. There are already some good texture and mesh mods. And, I don't think ENB is quite ready but some Reshade presets are already out there. At this point for longevity I would get the Special Edition unless your partner's computer is older.
If you buy Skyrim SE then it has all the DLC's included.
You can buy original Skyrim and DLC's if you want but I repeat ... it is a seperate game.
There are already many mods for Skyrim SE ... look on nexus
