Light vs heavy armor
I was thinking about running a sword/shield/wield build for legendary. What type of armor would be best? I assume heavy for early game but light for long term

Why would you switch to light? Heavy will get you to the armor cap with less fuss. besides swapping later on will just mean you have lower skills and perks for awhile making you easier to kill.

Its dosent matter light or heavy. Bc your defense stucks from skills + upgrades for armor + armor type: leather metal elf and etc.

You can easy get def cap with elven armor or some other light types.

It doesn't really matter. You will hit armor cap with either. Even as a sneak character it doesn't matter if you perk it correctly or use The Steed stone.

I guess the real difference is whether you want windwalker (better sta regen) or tower of strength (less time staggered) and reflect blows (thorns)

Heavy if you cant be asked to min/max, Light if you know what you're doing and hit the armor cap after using fortify blacksmithing gear/potion.
(Basicly requires max Enchanting/blacksmithing/alchemy)

"Armor cap occurs at 542 displayed armor rating when wearing all four pieces of armor and a shield, 567 without a shield, or 667 when not wearing any armor or shield at all." -Wiki

Get the steed stone (just west of Solitude, in those mountains near the Thalmor embassy). Any armor you wear won't encumber you, will be subtracted from your carry weight, and you get 100 more carry weight on top of that. Perfect for pack rat characters that use heavy armor.

I think you might mean West.
