Skyrim SE "Running" but not Launching.

Hi. I got a free copy of Skyrim SE. I successfully launched it twice. Once without mods and once without. the first time I added mods to my load order there were glitches and issues that I deemed were negligible. Later however I went back and added some more mods to my load order Skyrim said it needed to reload or refresh my files or something and then gave me a seemingly infinite loading screen with the little gear in the bottom right corner. I had to use Ctrl Alt Del and sign out completely; I couldn't even open task manager. Ever since when ever I try to launch Skyrim SE It comes up with the pop up window that comes up before the game actually launches. I click play and the window disappears and Steam says Skyrim SE is running and so does task manager but the game never opens. Am I being too impatient or is there an actual problem? I just deleted local content and reinstalled Skyrim SE today and still have the problem. Can someone who actually knows what they are doing help me out, cus I defnitely don't.

I had the same problem after adduling some old Skyrim mods.

Anything that needs SKSE and any companions (sadly, all Khajiit companion mods such as Jen'ra and Omen in my case) caused the same effect to my game. As did Hearthfire multiple adoptions.

Nexus Mod Manager was a great help here. I simply disabled one mod after another till I found the little bugger that caused the problem.

Huh so basically you think something requires SKSE and so prevents the game from functioning? What mods caused a problem for you? Maybe I've got some of the same ones. Also how did you deactivate them; I'm not using Nexus with Skyrim SE.

I just deleted everything under the Mods folder in the local files for SSE and it didn't help. Any other ideas?

I've heard that updating windows helps but I did that and nothing changed.
