Magicka permanent drain / not regenerating
Hi. When I ran the Fort Frostmoth quest my Magicka drained completely after taking a few hits. It will not regenerate. I can see it trying to regenerate. It looks like it is draining and regenerating but making 0 progress on regeneration. I have tried console commands setav magicka, magickarate to no avail. The only way I can use magic is to use TGM console command for God Mode. I have completed the quest line, thinking it might change something. I can go back to an earlier save, but as soon as I repeat Frostmoth, take a little damage from Ash Spawn I lose all Magicka again. Hoping someone has some ideas. It behaves like it is stuck on draining Magicka. TIA

Check you current active effects for any nasty conditions perhaps.

Unoffial patch, static mesh, quality map, cheat room, enhanced shouts, perks, inino, rich merchants, immersive citizens. I am only a week into the game, so was running the first character to learn Skyrim

Just an add: When I do a potion to restore magicka it immediately drains back to 0 magicka

I decided to restart from a prior save. This time I plan to catch up side quests and save Frostmoth for last. I am going to try taking out the Ash Spawn on the outside and towers with a bow and summoned Atronachs. I am also saving the Ask Deor quest since it to is not acting as it should until I figure out the issue. It seems I have hit a series of glitches starting with Neloth.

You probably got some sort of condition that kept your magicka at 0. Not entirely sure what that would be, considering that I haven't seriously used a mage-based character at all (4 years and I always go back to assasain/ranger)

I'm new to Skyrim. I am running 1 character to decide how I want to replay. Really like Skyrim considering few games keep my interest very long.

just a heads up, the dragonbord dlc is thorught as the after main questline. hel, most even say its the last thing to do (main quest, dawngaurd then dragonbord).

do you have vampirism?

I have been playing it as the first questline or actually not any order, just as I pick them up. That was an issue that made me feel like I wasn't following a sequence of the storyline. Next run I will try to understand some order for running through the game. On the other hand, I figured out and solved my issue. I stepped back to a previous save and spent time finishing misc quests and finishing some other parts that ocurr prior to the heartstone quest. This time I just blew through it with no problems. I did get the vampire disease but stopped it in time, then did the dawnguard speak to quest. Everything seems to be back in order now. Even the Deor bug is gone. Thanks all for the help.

this might sound sarcastic, but have you tried sleeping/waiting/fast traveling/leveling up?

because these usually force a recharge, i thought it might help.

I am also having the same issue I havent really started the dragonborn dlc and im with the dawnguard and suddenly my magicka went to zero and reloading, fast traveling, or anything else that needs loading doesnt help

sad noone has a fix for this besides "reload to previous save" i got hit with it during fighting the ebony warrior! Managed to kill the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ but now i have to reload to before killing him..... im sad
I play modded skyrim, same thing happened, tried disabling SunHelm mod, sleeping, putting down armor - no help. But using "player.dispelallspells command in console fixed it
