nothing in the SE catches me to switch over. in the end, it comes down to your priorities and what you do with your skyrim.

Unless your rig cannot handle the 64-bit SE version or there is just some mod which you cannot live without and is not available for the SE version then no, I cannot think of any reason to continue to play oldrim rather than SSE.

If you have SE and your happy then delete the 2011 version.

There no good reason to keep it.

So you can produce mods for both versions is enough for me to keep it installed.

SE is a tragically obvious move by Bethesda towards squeezing players for more cash.

The original version is free of this.

I downloaded and installed SE just to have a look, but mandatory sign up to their creation club was the end of that.

Why am I here?

I look occasionally to see the number of players in each, out of curiosity. After two years the original still has more players, though SE appears to be closing the gap.

Laziness. I haven't switched over because I have the mods I want and it's stable. I really don't want to have to go through the whole process again.

the login to CC is completely optional.

It is NOT mandatory to sign up to Creation Club.

Unfortunately, to think and respond intelligently, reading comprehension IS mandatory - hence the failure to realize that CC is not.

What kind of mods are you guys running on oldrim that arent available in SE?

~ some adult mods,
~ perkus working better,
~ racemenu working better,
~ the HDT in LE looks better than the physics in SE
~ dont need to reaquire the same or alternatives for the mods I already using.

starting over in SE is like traveling to a different county, with a different language and try to life there. sure life is the same, you still need to work, eat and sleep. but everything else is different.

and thats the huge turn off for me in SE. its quite fun to put a crap ton in the game from the visual perspective, but I am not interested to check out EVERY SKSE64 mod out there to see if its working with the current SKSE build. I am also one of the guys who have thousands different hairs, beards, brows or whatever in racemenu, and dont want to wait 30sec everytime I change the gender because racemenu is taking so long.

and ordinator is no alternative for me because coming from a mod like perkus maximus ordinator is a step backwards for me.

So in the end I rather invest a couple of hours to balance each other in oldrim than spending 100s of hours to getting a huge modlist again for the tiny advantage of 64bit. and in august or september I set out to mod special edition in a way I would like it but after merely 1,5weeks (as opposed to 3-6 weeks in LE) my motivation was gone because it was too frustrating to search for alternatives of stuff you used to like.

I'm running lots of SKSE plugins that aren't on SE, but the main reason I haven't switched (and don't intend to switch) is because my current game is very stable, I've got the game looking and playing how I want, and to be honest I've spent a hell of a lot of time getting it like that, and I haven't got the time to do it again for SE.

I preferred to play Oldrim because of the mods but I was forced to upgrade to SSE because after I changed to Windows 10 Oldrim has a big stuttering problem. I tried everything and couldn't fix it. Fortunately, by now most (but not all) of my preferred mods have been ported, or something similar has been created. But if it weren't because of the stutters I would probably still be there. I think the graphics are better in Oldrim too. More crisp, beautiful- SSE looks kind of fuzzy.
