CandleLight vs MageLight
I feel like these two spells are backwards. CandleLight is a Novice Spell... it follows you were you go. MageLight is an Apprentice Skill... it sticks to a wall, and you have to cast another one every so often as you're moving... great for a room; but useless on the move; where as Candlelight is good for both.

I'm curious as to what others experience; am I missing a Bigger Picture?

I also thinks that Candlelight is better to use. But Magespell have its advantages, since you can lit up one dark area whitout getting detected.

I dont think i have ever used MageLight except for accidently casting it with staves.
Candle is a lot better. The only upside to Magelight that i can see is that it wont ruin your stealth skill.

magelight would probably have more utility if it attracted or distracted animals and monsters as it zoomed by so you can sneak by a group of chaurus easier for example.

It does. Well, it does where it lands. It's like shooting an arrow when you're in stealth and all the enemies run to the arrow. If you (quiet casting) cast Magelight from stealth and it sticks to the wall, enemies will run to check it out.

You can also use it to set off traps and runes, but usually I just fire something that moves faster (but Magelight is cheaper than those, IIRC).

I use Fus for that.

Funny thing. It took a long time for me to notice, but magelight also sticks to npcs, so you can cast candlelight on yourself, then cast magelight on your follower. Double the light

It's dark in a room, it makes the room brighter. Is...there something else you were expecting? It works as intended.

Good point... I hadn't thought of that.

Now that's a really good point; and makes it more valuable. As a mage I don't use bows, so that can be helpful in getting an enemy in a better position for a long range attack.

You can't cast it twice (unless it's possible at higher levels) but on a Follower; now it does move - LOL -- kind of mean thought :).

I guess you didn't feel like reading the post; but decided to respond anyways. Okay... thanks for the input?!?

Very good points... I may have to re-think my favorites :).

Thanx All!!!
