Hi modding experts,

I need some help fixing this issue, i followed steps on youtube to manually put those 2 mods in.

But i still get the error 5, which i have looked up online but don't get smarter from.
Anyone here that can help a fellow Nord? the internet says its an really easy fix..just not for me haha.

- getskseversion (said the right version stuff)
- did a clean reinstalation
- disabled all other mods
- new save

thank you all in advance,

https://steamcommunity.com/app/489830/discussions/0/1697169163404345931/ -> Not gonna rez it, but here...

Code 5 means that a file is overriding SkyUI's. It can be on purpose if you installed map/inventory mods (QD Inventory SSE, Pastel Map Markers, etc.) and if so you should just uncheck the warning in the MCM.
If you didn't install that kind of mods, check Data/Interface folder for loose files. Then delete them or try to find which mod installed them (SkyUI files are packed in a BSA so it isn't SkyUI). Maybe 60 FPS Interface (as far as I know, it isn't necessary with SkyUI since its files are set to run at 60 FPS in SSE).

If you are manually doing it, I cant help, as i use MO2 Portable. But it looks like something youre doing is overwriting SkyUIs. I have a map mod on top of SkyUI, never seen a Code 5

You cant download this?
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/6194

or even this? https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/1

I know some people prefer manual modding, but Mod Organizers take a lot of the conflict resolution away and make it easier to spot conflicts

I used Vortex before with the the mods, but im unable to make them work.

MO2 gives me an error while downloading, i skipped the file. But its not able to connect to Nexus anyway, even when i use API key.

What i saw from the it it looked really good, its just not working for me :(

C:Modding/M02/libssl-1_1-x64.dll

An error ocured while trying to replace the existing file:
DeleteFile failed; code 5.
Access is denied.

Access code 5 means that something is likely using the file in question. Most likely anti virus application is blocking the access for it. Try to white list MO2 and try again.

I asked about this and isa confirmed this being the likely reason for code 5 with MO2.

MO2 doesn't require typing API key for authentication. Just log in to Nexus with your default browser. You should be able to connect MO2 to your account and NXM handler with one click behind MO2 Nexus tab.

it could be the anti virus. but most likely you just have your load order sorted incorrectly and some files are overwriting skyui. try downloading loot from nexus and run it so that the master files at least are sorted.

With AV I was referring to issues with MO2.

SkyUI error code 5 sounds indeed an issue, where some overwriting file is causing the problem, as Samurai and Simon mentioned above.

There is one follower called Sofia that have files from one older SkyUi whit it.
Check that you removed those files from your game.

Only mod i had to try things out is alternate starts, because i don't want to do the whole tutorial.

I figured out that my AV is messing things up (Bullguard). I have looked up online how to except files. But its already removing them before i have even istalled the launcher for MO2.

I tried to use Vortex again with the help of a 2018, 28min tutorial. Did everything he did ...didn't work. Only difference is that he was using the old NMM.
Which im now gonna try again.

Im really a noob with mods. So some things i have no clue about i just follow guides on youtube.

Oh. That sucks. AV that do stuff like that is terrible.
Dont use old NMM. MO2 will work better.
But you need to whitelist and dont have the game and the mods installed in your protected folders.

Dunno how to whitelist something on that AV.
I got Skyrim SE installed on my C drive (main internal one)

i get this while installing MO2 due to AV blocking it:

C:Modding/M02/libssl-1_1-x64.dll

An error ocured while trying to replace the existing file:
DeleteFile failed; code 5.
Access is denied.

Doesn't it have online documentation?
BloodyTampon Jul 30, 2020 @ 10:23am
I somehow fixed it on AV? now im installing Skyrim SE again. Ill give an update in a moment.
BloodyTampon Jul 30, 2020 @ 11:12am
I got it connected to nexus...but every mod doesn''t get placed in downloads.
Uncle64 Jul 30, 2020 @ 11:19am
Where have you MO2 installed, and where do it download?
Default download in MO2 is actually in Localfiles and that folder is protected.
Default install folder for mods is also there.

You may have need for changing that. Not hard to do at all.
In settings in MO2 there can you change all those settings.

One more thing. When you did install MO2 did you use the installer or did you download the standalone zip?
