Please I need help I cannot fix a NPC frozen/freeze issue.
I am very new to modding. I have played Skyrim se MOD free for a year. I decided to learn how to mod myself. All is going well with my 18 mods until I installed ENGINEFIXES part 1 and 2. I follow instructions to the letter. I launched the game after and all I get is cdt's. How can I fix this i simply do not know what to do now. I uninstalled and reinstalled everything nothing works. I have shots of my load order but can't see how to upload them here.

Have you read any of the pinned threads at the top of this forum? There is a lot of helpful information there.

You said 'to the letter" so this is probably pointless but just to be sure. You did the required stuff for engine fixes yes? Address library and you're using skse?

Yes and I tried a few recommendations and they did not work.

Yes. I am using Vortex and I certainly have SKSE64 2.0.17 and I downloaded ENGINEFIXES part 1 and two following all the instructions. I even uninstalled it and reinstalled it to be sure I did it correctly. I get the same thing cdt.

Download and install the .net framework mod which will produce crash logs that will help you debug. Have you run LOOT? Does it show any warnings?
digitarius9 Jul 25, 2020 @ 8:20am
I almost don't want to download another mod until I get this fixed. Yes loot does show warning SOSRacemenu and XPMSE says "designed for another game" but I know it definitely is for Skyrimse I made sure I had nothing for the LE or VR games. I checked all my downloads all say SE. I have 19 mods and only those two have warnings.

I'd say the .net framework won't add any further strain -- it's just an skse plugin that can help identify which mod is causing the crash. Other option is to try disabling all your mods and add them back a few at a time to narrow down the culprit.

Just to be certain I am using the correct term for my problem, when I launch and play the game the characters, especially mine, do not move all are frozen in place. If I hit the W button they glide no movement at all is CDT the correct term for this issue?

How concerned should I be about the following:
Warning: \character\character assets female\skeleton_female.hkx not Skyrim SE compatible
Warning: \character\character assets\skeleton.hkx not Skyrim SE compatible
Warning: \character\behaviors\FNIS_XPMSE_Behavior.hkx not Skyrim SE compatible

CTD = Crash To Desktop. Sounds more like you have an in-game mod interaction bug. Might have something to do with your load order. Check each mod in Vortex (right panel) and see if there are any LOOT warnings. If it's movement related, try disabling any mods that affect movement/animations first.

It definitely sounds like you have a mod that wasn't designed for SE in there somewhere.

That says it right there. If you get those warnings when you run FNIS (and you need to run Generate FNIS for Users whenever you add or remove an animation), it means that one of the animation files or skeleton is not compatible with SSE, but is probably still in Oldrim format - in an Oldrim mod. Which can also cause a CTD.

Make sure ALL your mods are only for SSE, and not from an Oldrim mod site or a ported mod that was improperly ported.

Thanks smr1957 but every mod shows SE not one is for any other game. I was concerned also and I checked the website for updates I have the latest. Of that is the case what can be down to get rid of the warning or do I have delete these mods?

Unfortunately the best and quickest way is to start over with a completely clean vanilla build (except for the Unofficial Patch and, if you use it, Alternate Start) and a completely new vanilla save. Then gradually add mods in until you get the error - making hard saves before adding each new batch of mods, so you can roll back as needed.

You may first wish to post your load order though, just in case someone can pick out the issue and save you the trouble. To post your load order, just click on the 3 vertical dots in the upper right corner of the LOOT screen, click on copy load order from the drop-down menu, and then paste in the reply box.

I am going off line for now, but others will pop in to help, and I am subscribed to the thread, so I will see what has been posted when I go back online. Good luck!

If you installed SSE Engine Fixes correctly, there should be a log file in the game directory called d3dx9_42.log. What does it say?
Never mind. It's not even a CTD the OP has problems with. Why use a term if you don't know what it stands for?
