Bow is op

An assassin archer can be quite op.
As they can deal sneak attack after sneak attack leaving the strongest of enemys near death before they even begin to approach you.

I have done a legendary start so at low levels bow + heavy armor is a must with liberal paralysis poisons. Late game 2x dagger with max sneak perks + dark brotherhood gauntlets has better dps. Also mehrunes razor.

Overall best build is alchemist because of how rigged it allows you to craft your gear.

I agree with above, all are good, but Archer Assassins are hard to beat. Dagger/Illusion Assassins are pretty fun as well. There is so many good combos. Just go with your play style. I like stealth myself but not everyone does.

archery got a kick to the face. it's not the clear winner anymore. I'd say 1h is probably the easiest combat at any particular given number of perks.

Depends on the difficulty.

At higher difficulties, 1H-weapon + shield builds are generally the ones that have the easiest time plowing through the game. Especially the folks running War Axes, since the bleed tick ends up doing more dmg than the crit% or armor mitigation swords and maces offer. Armor type doesn't matter because you can reach the armor cap either way.

guess it really depends on how you are defining "best". personally i think 2h weapons are more fun than 1h but they are soooooo slooooooww. magic is fun, but it most of it's fun derives from needing to switch spells dependent on circumstance. if doing that isn't fun to someone then it would be difficult to point to magic as being "best".

Bow can be really fun, but you'll need to be quick in your aiming unless you are a stealth sniper. That can be fun too, but if you've been dedicating your perks to stealth and archery you can get into a bit of trouble if you end up in melee.

2 handed is pretty supid powerful when combined with heavy armor, way easier//lazier play than sneaking around all the time

I always thought 2h was rather underpowered in Skyrim (or TES games in general).
