If you use magic, yes. Otherwise not really.

There are drawbacks such as being weaker to fire, weaker in the sun no health or stam regen, if you get to level 4 people will attack you on sight have to feed so they don't.

It is fun to play as a vampire, I have a nord mage vampire going now and having a blast with it.

You can try it out and if you don't like it you can talk to Falion in Morthal about a cure and do the quest to cure yourself.

If you're playing a lot with magic and necromancing stuff, yes.
If you're playing as "warrior", ONLY troubles causes...
If you're becoming a vampire, I HIGHLY suggest "Sacrosanct - Vampires of Skyrim" (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/3928/?). It overhauls player-vampires giving you new abilities, and spells. The longer you go without feeding, the more feral and powerful you become; but people will notice. At stage one, your vampirism is charming, giving you more speech, by stage 4 your vampirism will be so obvious, you'll be attacked on sight, and vendors will refuse to serve you. I should also mention that most of this is customizable.

Quick edit: Also, you don't need dawnguard, but it also heavily overhauls the "Vampire Lord Perk Tree".

SE comes with Dawnguard, so you get the extra Vampire perks which are nice. It also prevents you from being attacked at Stage 4, so your only real penalties are the weakness to fire and reduced Health & Stamina regen during the day. Instead you get some pretty nice bonuses, especially if you use Illusion magic and/or Stealth. Being a vampire works for any build, but is best for a class that uses at least one of those skills heavily from a pure munchkin perspective.
Maybe it's just me, but I feel like being a vampire (At least with Sacrosanct) really compliments stealth.

no i reccomend being dawnguard
You can always be a vampire WAY before level 10, which is when you get the option to start Dawnguard

You can start Dawnguard at level 1 if you like (I've started it at level 2 or 3 before now). Just make your way to Fort Dawnguard.
Oh cool, I guess I've never tried. Are the enemies adaptive to your level?

I have found being a vampire more trouble than its worth. Fighting in the day is a bad idea so it really limits you to a certain extent.

Some of the powers are fairly cool but not cool enough to offset the bad......at least for me.

being a vampire isnt too bad, the only downside is you cant be out in sunlight for too long as it damages health, the vampire lord form is fun to use however!

if you hate frostbite, yes

otherwise, no

hey costs nothing to try it out, play once or twice amd then forget about it, same with werewolves.
