Game won't let me complete mission...Help please
ok , i have googled this and found alot on this , but i am hoping someone can simplify this for me...i have tryed the Console commands and the game won't accept the command.

I am on the mission where Ulfric Stormcloak wishes i overturn Whiterun...i have done this and i have a new jarl , but when told to go tell Ulfric of the victory , i cannot talk to him.
i just bought Skyrim SE and was sooo o happy to play this again ,it's been about 4 or 5 years since i last played this and this mission is holding me back from progressing. can someone please help me ?

I had a simular issue via Fallout 4 , but i corrected it with a Console Command and no further problem....i am hoping this can be resolved in the same way.

Where "the console commands" are... what? What did you type, exactly?

Telling us what doesn't happen isn't helpful. What response did you get?

What do these two commands each tell you?

getstage CWSiegeObj getstage CWObj

As in, you hit space / activate / whatever on him, and he doesn't say a word? Or he just says something generic? Again, what does he do?

I had this problem a month or so ago, posted a comment in unofficial support thread about it. The only solution I've found was to redo the "battle for whiterun" quest and immediately after the conversation at the end of the battle (in dragonsreach) run manually through whiterun and all the way to windhelm. Do not fast travel anywhere. Somewhere about 3/4 of the way there check your map and whiterun icon should be back on map. Once that reappears, Ulfric will talk to you about the mission immediately after coming up to him. This is the only thing that worked for me.

1. Open the Journal and look for the name of the quest

2. Go to the wiki[en.uesp.net] and find the ID of the quest (will be at the top of the screen, for example CR01)

3. In game hit the tilde key on the keyboard to bring up the console terminal ( ~ )

4. Issue command
player.sqs QUESTID

The QUESTID will be the quest ID from Step 2

This will list all the stages of the quest with a 0 or a 1. The zeroes are stage you have not completed and the ones are the stages you have completed in that quest.

5. Issue command
SetStage QUESTID STAGE#

The STAGE# will be the first stage you see in step 4 that has a zero.

I do this all the time as its really easy to break certain quest lines like Blood on the Ice (murder mystery in Windhelm) and the Companions Faction Questline
