can't become thane of windhelm? (need console command)

So I've finished the blood on ice quest line, helped various people from the hold and all that stuff. But for whatever reason i don't get the option to buy Hjerm? I really want to be thane if every hold but I don't like the civil war quests, so could someone help me out with this? Like a bug fix or a console command or something

I don't think you can become Thane of Eastmarch without doing stuff in the Civil War, from what I've read Battle for Windhelm must be completed on imperial side or Falkreath must be captured for the Stormcloaks to purchase Hjerim. Blood on the Ice isn't a requirement.

I don't think console commands can help you either.

MightyJean is right about this - you need to do the Civil War quest line before you can purchase Hjerim or become thane:

Befriend the Jarl of Eastmarch by progressing through the civil war questline.
Assist the people of the hold.
Purchase Hjerim.
Return to the jarl for your reward.

There is an alternative, but will need a little work on your part. The following Oldrim mod allows you to buy Hjerim after completing Blood on the Ice

It is just an .esp file so you can easily port it over by just changing the form from 43 to 44. To do so, see:
