Or they can use CC content to support the modders and dont crash every time there is an update to the game if they forget to stop automatic updates.
There' nothing stopping modders from being supported on Nexus, In fact it's encouraged. How much percentage of proceeds from CC goes to the actual modders? And last I checked tipping someone on Nexus doesn't result in you having 100 credits left you can't do anything with, Or having to buy arbitrary set amounts of said credits.
As to problems caused by updates that's typically an SKSE issue and any idjit can prevent or fix that with little effort.
It's really not hard to grab the last supported EXE from the depot and have it backed up somewhere......
And once i spend 5 minutes doing that i don't have to worry about spending money on CC BS, supporting CC BS or crashing for several monsths at minimum.
They did at one point tell us what percentage went to the modder, it was cringeworthly small, which is why they don't advertise it.
