Mod sites (Other than nexus)?
So, i've been using nexus for as long as I can remember, but it seems to be a bit crap since in order to download MODS at a good speed, I have to pay 50+ bucks a year? (I know there are cheaper options but they only last for a smaller amount of time.)

So are there other sites that hosts the same mods that are safe to download from?

(Also please stay on topic, I know what some of you will say, but i dont want to hear it, if I had expendable income to pay for this, I *Might've* but right now, its too much and the normal download speed is just dumb.)

Are the 'slow' speeds really that bad? As to alternative sites, MAYBE Modder's DB? Though in all honesty the speeds really aren't that terrible unless you're downloading some kind of mega texture mod or something.

How slow is normal speed for you? I've never paid for a sub to Nexus and even the largest mods only take a minute or a few to download, most take less than a minute.
the non-premium speed is 1 mb, and all i know is that when I try to download mods that I've downloaded before all this, they downloaded much faster.

Yeah their 'speed bump' is only a recent thing but really it's not that big of a pain. It's not like they're following other site's example these days by cutting off DLs entirely unless you pay for more time or something.

You're right. I just checked and they must of changed it sometime recently and free now caps at 1mb.

There really isn't any. There's bethesda's site, but the mods allowed on there are quite limited. No SKSE mods, for instance, or mods that incorporate content from other franchises. I haven't used it in quite a while myself, so I don't know if you have to keep your game up to date to use that site or not.
Well damn, sounds like nexus kinda has a monopoly on good mods

I'm pretty sure that Nexus capped the non-premium speeds at 1mb/s years ago didn't they?

It's just a bit more in your face now with the notification.

At any rate, a 1mb/s speed is perfectly fine for 90% of mods as most aren't that large. It's pretty rare to see anything more than 1gb.

You can have a lifetime membership for £49.99, and never have to pay again.

But to answer your question https://www.moddb.com/ has some Skyrim SE mods

Yeah free mods but half the damn community around it is toxic. Friend of mine got their stuff taken down because some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ went around and false reported their mods. >:/ They worked really hard on them and this happens?

Yes- i find it dumb they cap the download speed. Before you could download faster without the stupid ass cap system in place. Now it's there- even if you have very fast internet. Takes longer to download mods now. I'm not paying them anything. Ad blocker plus is best. Site is filled with annoying ads running in the background of it

2mb/s if you don't block ads or buy supporter to disable ads.
Though, whenever I turn off my adblocker on Nexus, it complains about me using an ad blocker still... so... blocking ads it is.

I got a notification that due to the amount of downloads my Racemenu preset had I achieved mod author status and no longer will see ads.

You could do the same to avoid ads.
