How do I install the unofficial skyrim SE patch

new to the community area, also new to skyrim just got it 3 days ago. have some game issues,that after hours of searching I found no answers. So I read there is an unofficial patch, I just downloaded it with the hope it will solve some of the problems I encountered. Can someone walk me through how to install the patch, I just have the game sykrim SE downloaded from steam. also I am new to the pc using windows 10 64 bit. so might not understand it if you get to technical. the file type is 7z no idea what I need to extract that with. ohh it says I need version 1.5.16 or above, hopefully thats what steam gave me, not sure how to check, looked for the exe file but did not locate it. thank you

Hello. Welcome to modding and game.

I recommend that you use mod manager to install your mods.
- Vortex is the official mod manager of Nexus Mods. It has it's quirks, but it works.
- Mod Organizer 2 is alternative mod manager for Bethesda games. It is my personal favorite.

There is a pinned topic with links to official tutorials of both tools. Pick the one that looks best and we will help you through with it.

USLEEP USSEP will fix a bunch of issues. However, it would be best if you would describe which sort of issues you are facing in the game. They might be related to settings and we can help you to figure them out.

my issues are hotkey related, I assigned potions , items, spells assigned 1-8 and only the potions fire when I hit the assigned key. my special ability (w00d elf) works when I hit the Z key. as for the spells they are muffle and it is also a spell I guess bound bow. I am level 5, have 220 magic, 20 conjuration. bought the muffle spell tome and found the bound bow tome.
seems I have the ability to use them. also I can;t figure how the heck to dismount my horse. I finally got off it using the C key but the game went nuts and floated the horse up into the sky until it disappeared, never did respawn at any stable or that location again.

I think Iilja meant to say USSEP.... yes use a mod manager, either Vortex (smaller learnering curve) or MO2, both are excellent mod managers.

I'm curious if you use mods, probably not so since you are asking about installing USSEP. So grab SKYUI also and/or watch this video for the many uses this excellent mod has to offer besides the most common uses people are aware of, it just may help your favorites as I just make one press of a button and all my faves pop up categorized.

finally horse dismounting has been an issue for many in skyrim for some time now. There are some tricks until you get it fixed, just google that problem.

And please take a few minutes and read the pinned topics that are listed when you first enter these same Skyrim Special Edition Forums. Great! Vid! and yeah I watched it awhile back yet always forget to link it where related. So many people don't know what all this mod does or the long long list of mods that depend on it or list it in their requirements. Then, on a separate note, and of course not covered in this video, there's that little problem where so many complain that they installed SkyUI and it does not work but after further review the call on the field is overturned because they did not install SKSE64 properly

Yes, I did. Still too used of writing "USLEEP" from 32bit side. :)

Go to the in game mod tab, search for Unofficial, find it and download. No need for 3d party programs.

You can also use nexus mod manager to install mods which is a lot easier to get/understand than vortex.

it amazes me how this game out of the box ever got a good rating. took my bow to a range, about 7-10 yards from the target, X axis was good, but the arrows landed between me and the target, I had to aim 8" higher on my screen to have the arrows finally land on the target. I might be old but not blind lol. There is no way to use this weapon in combat. I know, I know, find a mod for it.... :)
