How to disable Vsync for SSE?
Was wondering if anyone knew how to actually get this done? My actual Vsync is 144hz but the game is forced at 60 and I can't figure out why. I've turned the Vsync off in the Nvida controlp panal, there is no vsync option in the games main menu or launcher. Any help would be apprciated.

You don't unless you want to have a bad time.

Havok ties game physics to FPS. Uncapping FPS causes physics in game to fail.

You can test higher FPS. Sometimes people have used 70-90 fps without physics going bonkers. Other people see physics going bonkers, if FPS hits 61.

144 is going to make game unplayable. If you end up disabling VSync, then use limiter - like ENB binary option - to set FPS cap for the game, depending on where safe spot lands in your system.

Some people say Skyrim engine and effects start to freak out beyond 60 fps and the game is locked at 60 fps. Some say is okay to go to 120 fps. I cannot say what it is because I simply dont have such a powerful machine to go to much higher fps

Look, I'm suprised this info isn't more widespread but there is a fix for the whole physics issue. You really should try this out. https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/6xzthx/a_few_lesser_known_ini_tweaks_120_fps_physics_fix/

This allows you to play at above 60 without issues. I use it for Fallout 4 and play at 120fps.
Doesn't work for FNV and FO3 though

Yet there are heavily modded engines of Skyrim, you can see such videos on youtube of people who mod Skyrim to play like Dark Souls. And the framerate there is indeed a lot higher than 60 fps and everything is so smooth. You cannot believe that it is Skyrim engine really, in fact it might not be. Those guys hack the engine much bigger than VSync can possibly do imo

INI-tweaks are worth to try out, but there is a potential problem. Ramping potential FPS to max is a bad choice, because scripts are tied to frame rate in good and bad. (Yep...) VM suffers from unsteady performance.

Everyone feel free to test better FPS. Once you have found what you seem to be able to handle, cut it down with 20-30 FPS, to make it stable. Use a thing like ENB (just ENB/ENBoost is enough. The setting is in enblocal.ini file), NVIDIA Inspector or what ever you have and are comfortable to use.

Maxed FPS Skyrim usually comes down sooner or later, when Papyrus starts throwing stack dumps, due to fluctuating FPS causing too many script performance issues for VM. The sweet spot is where the (already modded) game has the most stable FPS.

Ok... HOW do I disable vsync? What is the procedure?

iPresentInterval=0 added under display doesn't do anything for me. FPS still capped at 60.

Maybe it is forced by your GPU? Check 3D application settings under it's control panel.

Check all three .ini files. Better yet, use BethINI and let it manage the .ini files for you:

BethINI - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/4875

BethINI is an external app similar to the original launcher, but offers greatly more control over the game's many parameters including the vsync setting.

If you do run the game at high frame rates then I suggest you avoid installing too many mods as some mods do not like running with more than 60fps, and stick to pure texture and audio mods. Many mod authors simply do not have the time or means to test their mods above 60fps. Also install the SSE Engine Fixes and the SSE Display Tweaks. These mods help with avoiding crashes and with running the game at high frame rates.

Note, vsync can be enabled by the game, through the driver, by mods such as the SSE Display Tweaks and tools such as ENB. These override one another, usually in this order: driver > ENB > mod > game. To be sure do you need to check all, make sure they do not override each other with nonsense settings, and have it either set to disabled, to "application controlled", or set to your desired limit.
