Hand Seams? Any Mods to Fix That?
I'm having a lot of fun playing Skyrim SE, but one thing I'm noticing that I don't remember noticing much on LE are these seams where the hand meets the rest of the arm. On any character that isn't wearing gloves, there's a noticeable seam.

Are there any mods to fix this? I can live with it, but if there's a way to make it so the transition from hand and wrist to arm is smoother, I'd love to know about it.

In case it matters, I'm not using any body mods. Pure vanilla. I do have texture mods, but none of them affect the vanilla bodies or skin.

Oh, well.

I guess Kaiden 2 will have to go, which kind of sucks, because I was interested in that one.

Guess I'm starting a new game.
Kaiden 2 has female body textures in its BSA, probably by complete accident because it has no head or hand textures (thus it will always cause problems if it gets loaded).

You could use Cathedral Assets Optimizer[www.nexusmods.com] to unpack the BSA, delete the textures (everything in the textures\actors\character\female folder) and then use Cathedral Assets Optimizer again to repack the BSA. I can help walk you through this process if you'd like.

You could also just find a skin mod you like and install it. That will eliminate this problem by overriding those textures. Either of these options can be done mid playthrough.

My guess is cbbe body, hands, and feet need to be built in bodyslide so that the body mesh matches the skin texture that comes with it.

I *think* that's the usual cause of seams, though there can also be wrist gaps much larger caused by other things that i can't remember

Or you have multiple bodies and the resources from one are overriding the one you’re using

I know that one from experience.. I’ve had the seams on the wrist, ankles and neck for a while until I finally said to hell with it and had CBBE + Physics overwrite everything else.

My guess is you have 2 or more bodies OP? Disable the rest except the one you are using and rebuild it.

Also make sure you are batch building to your body

If needed, it all works the exact same for skyrim.

I'm not using any body mods, though--and I'm actually not certain whether "seams" is the correct term. It's just that the color of the hands (which are usually "dirty") meet an arm that's cleaner, and there's this line that goes all the way around.

No body mods here. See my post above, answering Jonny.

I suppose I can live with it. I just wish the transition from wrist to arm was smoother than it is.

Can you share your load order? You only get seams (generally) with conflicting bodyslide models..

You dont have any CBBE, XPMSSE, UNP, UUNP, or any body replacers that you downloaded as part of a mods requirements?

you may want to double check your bodyslide presets.. are you batch building to a body that isnt your PC model body?

I can share my load order, yeah. And I'm also going to try to grab a screenshot to show what I'm talking about. Just give me a couple minutes.

Yea i think i know what you mean.. Seams is an accurate word..

you normally see it on the neck, wrists and ankles.. because thats where the body presets cut off in bodyslide

And here's a couple screenshots I snapped of the one Companion (I forget her name), where I first noticed it. I think my eye caught on it because she's not wearing any gloves:

I think it's just jarring because her hands are dirty but then up from that, it transitions straight into a clean arm? As I said, I can ignore it, but I was just curious if it was supposed to be that way or not.

Thats 100% your body coliding with a texture... I cant see any body morphs in your load order so i have no idea whats going on with that.. One thing i would try doing though is download CBBE and build that body in body slide, see if that fixes it, other than that im stumped..

That's actually not my body. It's one of the Companions.

I'm going to try loading up the game vanilla-style and see what happens (using the coc Whiterun on the main menu) to see if it's still happening that way.
Jonny Sparta Jul 10, 2020 @ 8:39am
make sure you don't orphen your mod scripts
Jonny Sparta Jul 10, 2020 @ 9:30am
I think you're probably getting hand or body textures from a mod that might not explicitly say it.

Just to see what it overwrites you could install a skin mod, i would think that would reveal the culprit if it's a texture issue.

making it win the conflict would probably stop it for now and let you keep playing.

If it's meshes then maybe that armor comes with prebuilt meshes for a cbbe preset, even if it's a fairly normal looking one.

But i imagine you're tried wearing different armors or have seen this happening on characters with different armor at this point.

This thread seem to be dealing with the same issue, his image looks to me like it's the same thing. Might learn something.
