Game of Thrones = Skyrim Live action?
After the first episode of GoT I felt like I had just watched what seemed to be a Skyrim live action tv show. As I continued, the similarities kept increasing and at the point where I'm at in the series it's undenyable that Skyrim must have had some kind of influence over RR Martin.

1. The return of the dragons (after a thousand years of being gone)
2. There is a character who is essentially a dragonborn
3. There is a character early in the story who looked identical like Brynjolf but acts noble like Balgruuf
4. The names of some locations are very similar or identical to skyrim. See: Riverun, Winterfell, the red keep etc...
5. Civil war between two factions (locations are similar to in Skyrim)
6. The general looks 1:1 the same as the empire's general
7. The existance of giants with mammoths
8. Both Skyrim and GoT are threatened by the living dead
9. Ancient advanced civilization that supposedly gone extinct from a sudden event
10. Court wizard
11. Eldergleam (skyrim) and weirwood (GoT)
12. Forsworn vs wildlings
13. Werewolves (skyrim) and Wargs (GoT)
14. 9 Holds (skyrim), 7 holds in GoT.
15. 9 Divines (skyrim), 7 gods in GoT.
16. GoT has square faces, Skyrim has Square faces

I'm sure there are a lot more similarities. Thoughts?

Well Bethesda was asked to make a GoT RPG back in 2011, but they turned it down to make Skyrim.

Turned it down in 2011, to make skyrim? Skyrim was finished and released in 2011. They probably turned it down to make Fallout 4. Glad they turned it down either way. Let someone else make a GoT RPG and actually get it right. CDPR would be perfect for it, since they focus primarily on storytelling. Not to mention that they're glorious Red Engine would do wonders for the massive world of GoT.

Im pretty sure it went like they were already making skyrim when they asked and as they were making it they refused.

Interesting stuff, another thing too is that the dancer also talked and acted a lot like a kahjiit and i forgot to mention that the dark brotherhood not only acts the same as the brotherhood in GoT but they also look the part as well. Sorry for the vagueness, I try to avoid posting spoilers as much as possible, even name reveal is spoilerish.

You have to relize Game of Thrones the books had been out long before Skyrim was in development. So no Game of Thrones is a live action version of A Song of Ice and Fire.

Also the developers obviously had inspirations from other works, one of which could be A Song of Ice and Fire (the book that GoT is based off)

Yes, Skyrim - a game that came out at the end of 2011 - was a big influence on a TV show whose pilot was made in 2009, first season was filmed in 2010, second season was already being filmed in 2011, and is based on a book from 1996. It's well-known that Martin is a time travelling wizard (you can tell by looking at him) who went into the future to look at a video game for inspiration.
