[SOLVED] CTD when near Whiterun (modded Skyrim)
So I recently modded my Skyrim and now I CTD around Whiterun from the road leading to the first dragon fight all the way to White River Watch. Here's my load order:

This is the load order LOOT gives me.
I've been trying to turn off certain mods and test the game again but I can't seem to find the mod(s) responsible for the crashing. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Tried disabling whiterun stable guards? That would be my first guess.
Immersive Armors load order is wrong. From 3rd sticky on IA's Posts section

The load order after activating the two .esp files is :
Hothtrooper44_Armor_Ecksstra.esp
Hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.esp

Also, check for compatibility issues with Immersive Citizens. See:

You have lot of uncompatible mods.

For exemple vivid weather with Better roads.
Immersive Citizens with everything that add buildings and so on to cities.
ELFX with vivid or Immersive citizen i don't remember.
RDO needs to be loaded before immersive citizens.
Lantern of Skyrim uncompatible with one of your mod too.
Why is lantern of skyrim loaded before USSEP ?
Immersive Armor is a Hightly bugged mod that I suggest you to delete.

Thanks for your help guys, Immersive Citizens was the problem. Everything else works fine and I haven't crashed in the usual spots.

Lanterns of Skyrim is the exception to the rule of not loading other mods before the unoffical patch. From the mod's description page:

"This mods edit many exterior cells of Skyrim, so the good loading order is:

- Skyrim
- Update
- Lanterns of Skyrim
- Unofficial Skyrim Patch (or USSEP)
- DLCs and Unofficial patches
- ... All other mods

This to allow the Unofficial Patch to properly edit the exterior cells data like the locations."


As to IA. There is nothing wrong with IA, very many people use it without any problem whatsoever. As long as you remember to a) load the .esps in the correct order; b) don't enable the mod until after the intro (it may cause the into to bug out); and c) make sure you are not using mods that are not compatible with it and have any and all necessary patches (if needed) installed, you should not have any problems with it.

Actually, yes, I can - based upon several thousand hours scanning mod pages (over 30,000 mods worth), researching mods, and editing mods in xEdit (I am not including gameplay time in that). While there are many mods that are highly bugged (one needs only look at Nazenn's Masterlist of Dangerous and Outdated mods), IA is not one of them. Does it have some problems? Yes, as do many mods, but certainly none out of the ordinary.

As with most things when it comes to modding Skyrim, the fault usually lays with individuals not exercising due diligence in the selection of mods, not following proper modding techniques as outlined in the pinned topics, and sometimes, just plain carelessness.
