CBBE SMP (3BBB) adds a body called CBBE Body SMP (3BBB) which you can build in bodyslide, for me i think it was enabled by default after install but i've since built with other body just to test stuff.
I'd try building that body and then * aghem clears throat* go in game and take your characters clothes off, I would think it would be working then. But the body only applies when you don't have clothes on, armor and clothes sort of use their own body if i understand correctly, so smp will need to be applied seperately to clothing you want to be physics enabled.
I don't think you need to be using the body to use physic enable hair, WHICH IS AMAZING

Im pretty happy with just having this working for now.
Beyond the nude body Im geting the impression (but idk for sure) that if you want to apply hdt-smp physics to clothing you need clothing that has been converted for it.
There's a deserterx collection that has been converted but it requires the UNP body which i've never really used, and i don't really know how it works with BS and racemenu morphs and such so thats as far as i've got for now.
Im sure there are clothes around that are converted to CBBE SMP (3BBB) i just havn't really looked much yet

Let me know how it goes, I'd really like to understand what all we can do with physics now
