Nchuand-Zel Puzzling Locked Gate
I have encountered this spot before, and promptly forgot about it after finishing the quest. Near the end of the level in "Nchuand-Zel Control" close to where you find Staubin's body, there is a "Locked Gate: Needs Key". Inside is what looks like a chest (but isn't) with a red swirling aura around it. I used console command to get a closer look, and it turns out it's a "Dwemer Charging Device" and it says "needs key". There is also a Locked Chest in there with "Requires Key" when you select it. Does anyone know what this is, and how you access it?

What lever? I've already read this walkthrough and a dozen others. The Wiki doesn't even mention this location. None of them do.

I posted this on the Nexus Forums. Here's a link to the post, which has attached images that I uploaded there. Gives a better view of what I'm talking about.

Must be mod added then go to the chect open console and click on it with mouse the mod id that added the chest will show, just match that to your load order.

No, it's not mod added. I don't have any mods that modify dungeons or architecture. I also don't have any that add quests to the game. I've encountered similar Dwarven devices throughout other Dwemer Ruins. Also, when it was first released, I originally played Skyrim SE vanilla. No mods. Period. And it was there then, as well. It looks like a device that charges a cube or a Dwarven weapon.

Where you're standing, to the right of your character, is there a series of Dwemer machinery? Cogs turning, vents and the like? And to the left of where your character is standing, slightly further over, is there the body of Staubin? If not, then you're in a different spot.

Well 1 thing is certain there isn't a charging device in the base game so it must be a mod

As I said, I do have mods, but they're either body (my character, Serana, Valerica, Ysolda), hair, bathing, sleeping, armour, weapons, animation (running, sitting etc.) and that's all. I have NO mods that alter dungeons or mod environments.

Well, that's the spot alright. I don't get it. I have no mods that would change a dungeon layout.

I just explored Nchuand-Zel as well and saw the same as tulle040657 - I suspect one of your weapons mods must be adding the charging thingie. As cfs111 said, determine the mod's id in the console and match it to your load order and that will tell you which one.

Thanks for everybody's replies. I think I tracked it down. A mod I never realized I had, I think, is causing this. It's called "Dwarven Black Weapons". Apparently, with this mod, a number of Dwemer Ruins have these "Charging Devices" for charging the unique Dwarven Black Weapons in the mod. There's one to charge each of the types (mace, greatsword, axe etc.) I was going out of my mind trying to figure out what the heck it was.....
