Fast mouse clicks don't register
So basically i'm having an issue with mouse clicks sometimes not registering with certain weapons. If I have either

1. Only a one handed weapon equipped

2. A two hand weapon equipped

3. Two weapons equipped (i.e. duel wielding)

then the game doesn't register my mouse clicks if they are too fast. We aren't talking about absurdly fast clicks either. Basically a normal mouse click won't register, but if you hold down the mouse button for even 0.2 seconds then it registers. In menus, the game always registers my mouse clicks no matter how fast.

The weirdest part, is that if I equip a sword in my main hand, and a spell in my off hand, then it will always register mouse clicks and the issue is gone. Same goes for a sword and shield. It is only the 3 weapon combinations listed above that cause issues.

There is nothing wrong with my mouse or my drivers. It's a Skyrim problem. A few others have had this problem also. No fix so far.

Wondering if you have another input device connected to PC, besides mouse and keyboard.
Have you checked your mouse driver is up to date?

And are you saying bows and spells work ok with mouse clicks? because from what I recall both work slower than weapons... Perhaps your mouse settings are limited to slower clicking somehow?

The bug doesn't happen with any other games or browsers just Skyrim. I have no other input devices connected. Bows and spells work normally.

I tried a different mouse same thing happens. I have a logitech G Pro mouse it doesn't offer drivers I have the generic windows driver but the mouse's firmware is up to date.

I just told you it had no drivers it uses the generic Windows HID Compliant Mouse driver like most mice do. What do you want me to download from that link? I already have the Logitech gaming software and the mouse has the latest firmware. Even if it did have drivers I tried a different mouse and it made no difference. Drivers aren't the problem.

Sorry if I sound rude but I've tried a lot of stuff and I just want a solution. I may quit playing Skyrim because of this bug.

It is just the way the engine is designed. The only way to make it better is to get a faster processor. It is polling the mouse and not using the windows message system (I guess because console but I no almost nothing about consoles so am not sure). The engine also uses up/down buttons instead of the input queue so the mouse button has to be down when the software checks for it.

It is a very old software design that most places abandoned in the 1980s

A faster processor will allow the main loop to check to mouse more often

Okeeeee

First off this is not a bug or flaw with vanilla SkyrimSE……………..
This is not a normal issue with the game, it is usually drivers causing it.

Are you saying that Logitech has no driver for your mouse installed in the Device Manager of Windows?

Mine has Logitech driver version 5.92.28.0 from 4/2/2018.

but how does this explain that OP dont have the given issues with weapon + non-weapon equipped?

Thanks for all the input guys maybe we'll solve this. I posted this on Reddit also with more details. https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrim/comments/d31ujs/fast_mouse_clicks_dont_register/

Device Manager:
https://imgur.com/VHI6XnH
https://imgur.com/BwR116n - If I click Update Driver then click ''Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software'' it says I already have the best driver.

It seems weird to have such an old driver but its worked with everything no problem. I've tried uninstalling both of those drivers then restarting pc. When I check back windows has auto installed those drivers.

I guess those are the drivers I'm supposed to have. I've searched the logitech support site and I see no drivers available for my device. And the Logitech Gaming Software only gives an option to update Mouse firmware and it is up to date.

I looked up your driver and it's meant for cordless logitech mouse that may be why you need a special driver.

Respectfully, I think I've proven that it is a flaw with vanilla SSE. No other game has this problem. It's unique to Skyrim SE. I think the game has a compatability issue caused by something on my system. I will install Fallout 4 and see if it has this issue. My last option is to format windows and do a clean install then see if the bug is still there.

I just installed Fallout 4 it has the same problem. Fast mouse clicks don't register when I'm using melee including unarmed. If i have a gun it works fine. I'm gonna clean install Windows 10.

I just did a clean install (formatted the C: drive) of windows, after setup I installed the drivers from my motherboard site and installed the game again. The bug is still there. What an odd issue. I guess I'll just use magic or bow or sword+shield from now one.

My drivers are the usual, nothing odd about them. They're either from my motherboard site (the INF driver) or windows 10 drivers (ethernet, mouse, keyboard, sound) or the latest W10 x64 980 Ti 436.30 driver from geforce.com. If they were the issue everyone would be having this bug. I guess one last thing to do is reset my bios to default to see if it's some how the issue. I don't overclock so that's not the issue.

No. I've tried everything.

Did you ever try to go to windows control panel, open mouse program, and adjust the rate on the clicks.
