Undead Were Better in Oblivion
The undead in general were so much better in Oblivion than they were in Skyrim. In Oblivion, you got zombies with missing limbs, ghosts, wraiths, liches, and so on. In Skyrim, all it was, was just Drauger with the occasional ghost here and there.

I still remember my first time playing Oblivion. When that first zombie came around the corner in the tutorial I nearly shat myself and turned the game off.

Oblivion: Zombies, ghosts, skeletons.

Skyrim: Draugr, ghosts, skeletons.

Oblivion Zombies: Rotting carcass with one arm moaning and limping toward you. (AFAIK only one model/type).

Skyrim Draugr: Many different models/types, weapons, spells, shouts.

And you say which one is boring?

Skyrim is filled with lazy reskins.

Ghosts (human reskin), draugr + reskins. And the lich (Karskaag?)

Oblivion: Ghost (not reskin) Lich (not reskin) skeleton and lastly Zombies, Not copy and paste reskin of another creature like in skyrim. Just look at the CC zombie mod... Boring.

The thing that gets boring with skyrim is the lack of variaty in animations and behaviors. Much is just fighting the same creature with different buffs and atributes.

Love both games though <3. Im hoping that CC will be worth the time and actually create something refreshing!

With Skyrim ghosts I agree - they are just humans with transperant skin...

Oblivion: Zombies with missing limbs and rotting flesh, ghosts, Ancient ghosts, several versions of wraiths and at least two liches.

Slyrim: Drauger that vary in strength with the same weapons, shouts and armor throughout the game. Ghosts that aren't scary at all...

You tell me which one is lazy.

Draugr are more varied than Oblivions zombies, kinda hurts me to admit Skyrim did something a bit better, but overall Skyrim does lack other forms of undead. Why would Wraiths and Liches not be prevalent in Skyrim? There's certainly no shortage of necromancers.
It's also strange how there are no zombies in Skyrim, only draugr. Are there no fresh undead in the country?

For me it got to the point where it felt like there were more Draugr than people in Skyrim. They were way too overused in my opinion.

The only variety in the Drauger was just their levels. They never had any missing limbs as far as I recall. And they all looked exactly the same.

Not really true. Draugr have an appearance randomizer, meaning many have seperate faces, armor, weapons, shouts, and levels.

Yeah, every dungeon is either Draugr or bandits, enemy variety wasn't too high on Bethesdas list I suppose.

They all look pretty much the same to me. Some have helimits and others don't. That's about as "randomized" as they got.

70% of the Skyrim population has taken up banditry and robs the other 30%.

The differences are subtle, there's not much you can make unique about a shriveled nord raisin.
Damn I just realized I'm defending something about Skyrim. This will likely never happen again...
