Do I need Papyrus?

I incorrectly tried to download SKSE yesterday, and as I was removing the SKSE files from my SSE folder, I removed the Papyrus file as well. My game runs fine, but Vortex notified me that Campfire needed Papyrus to work. Do I need Papyrus in my SSE folder? Or was it a part of SKSE? Thanks.

Some mods do need Papyrus to run or get full functionality.

Can't I download SKSE through steam? Or is the SKSE on here only for old Skyrim?

Get it from the source, just make sure you don't get the FO4 version.

Or just read the readme on the website you download SKSE from. It's like a 3 step process, it's incredibly easy.
