Common problem since the release of the game.

They're flagged as NPC's. Fear not.

It's fine, your house is only haunted. The good news is they'll watch over you while you sleep. Always nice to have that Lover's Comfort buff.

I had this issue with Mammoth Manor and Aonghus House, so i tried the mod Mannequins Stay Put.

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/6414

Seemed to work for a while but then had the same issues, the only decent house mod out there where the author had the vision to give you an option with mannequins is Riverside Lodge, you can turn them on/off.

Now i avoid player homes with mannequins like the plague, because in the end its a real irksome issue for me and as i like to collect gear and stuff, i just can't handle it.

Here's a thought, what would happen if you rested your mouse pointer on them hit the ~ key and entered the command "markfordelete" ?

When this happens to me, I take away one piece of clothing from the mannequin and then equip it back. The thing returns to its place every time. Don't know if this would work for you too, though.

use the mod called Sexy Mannequins, it will change the texture to actual NPC models. Choose female version, problem solved. Sexy naked haunted mannequins are better than walking wooden sticks.

Or, an actual solution (it works for me), interact with the moving mannequin (either it or the base where it stands) and put an armor on it and it should reset permanently, even if you take it back.

not sure the vanilla mannequins, but i used the disable command on a mannequin from a house mod and it disabled it just fine. Just make sure you click the actual mannequin. Clicking stuff with the command console open is really clunky. That was before i found that putting armor on a moving mannequin fixed it.

i missed this response before posting mine. That is correct, this does work.

Aha, i have tried that do, yes they do return to their proper place, but after awhile i have returned and they have moved again, that's enough for me, too many issues and really mod authors should put in the option to have or not have mannequins, like Riverside Lodge did.

This is a glitch with the vanilla game. Its caused by the fact that the 'mannequins' are actually just normal npcs with a unique skin. They're set to not do any animations (thus the t-pose), but sometimes that script fails to fire and this results in them acting like normal npcs would; walking around, doing idle animations, etc...

I've never had this happen myself, though I think taking an item from them will set them back where they're supposed to be. You'll have to click on their stand though, not the walking mannequin itself.

I love it when they act like the weeping angels and move when you are not looking at them: Move, stand still, move, stand still, etc. Or when they come to life and move around while you are looking at them.

They also dupe armor, or at lest the head piece in my Lakeview Manor.....I've duplicated several of the Dragon Priest masks, they seem to prefer duplicating the higher value ones. I've gotten them to change which mask is duped but not very often.

It's the zombie mannequin invasion ... get out the tin foil hats again :steammocking:

kidding... as stated it's a common problem with the only real fix being to edit nav mesh islands around the stands ... you'll get used to it.

*snarl*

Just when I stop having the creeping screaming willies over those things, SOMEBODY has to bring them back to mind. Thanks, thanks a bunch. :P

Anyway, the moving mannequins always amuse me, since it just makes an otherwise boring part of the landscape worth a gander. I also like when the skeletons' heads in Fallout 4 sometimes will follow you if you bump them in just the right way. That one speak-easy in Concord with the three on the couch and chair, you take one's cigar and it turns very slowly to look at you. Probably just coincidence, but still ...

Weeping Angels *shudder* The only way they'd have been creepier is if they'd been little cherubim instead ... adorable when still *blink* and then they're not. Kinda like real little kids, actually.

Edited to differentiate between games.
