SkyrimSe.exe missing?
I went to play the game today with my favorite mods and for some reason it won't load because it says Skyrimse.exe is missing. What does that mean? My game works but I cant use my mods because it says the skyrimexe.exe is missing. Any ideas. Help please. I reinstalled and still did not work so it must be a mod or something?

Couple of questions:

Have you ever moved your game to another drive?

do you use SKSE64?

Redo SKSE64 remove and reinstall it

ok you don't have it then, you would know if you had it because you would not be loading your game through steam.

anyway
go to steam library find this game go to propertiesand rh click it - then click on the "Local files" tab
then go to "Browse Local files" you should see SkyrimSE.exe
you may not see the .exe if your extensions are hidden so you'll just see SkyrimSE, it has a little black and white skyrim logo for an icon (dragon)

if you do not see it go back to steam where you found browse local files tab and instead of that click on verify integrity of game files.

OH OK, didn't see this while I was typing.

how long ago did you install it? and when was the last time you were launching successfully?

you have to remove skse 64 then reinstall it

It was working fine about a month ago but then I installed more mods. I also reinstalled and I believe one of the mods i had to modify skyrimse files and I think that's were the problem happened. My mods don't work at all. My guess is it has to do where I stored everything because when I use Vortex. I can play my game but I cant use all the mods they won't even show up when I look under load order

Sounds like you or someone renamed some files, possibly trying to get the Steam overlay. Best thing to do is refresh SSE then reinstall SKSE64.

Verify the integrity of your game files as I described

then follow the video but make sure you remove the old skse64 files then reinstall skse64

you should be launching from skse64 launcher when you play the game nowhere else

I use Vortex when I launch the game. Never had a problem before until today. Are you saying all this time I should have used skyrim script extender? I'm not following if that's the case
