Open Civil War instructions

Does anyone know hot to actually play the wargame in OCW. The instructions provided are utterly useless. I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing and what any of it means. I roughly get the idea that I'm supposed to be moving troops around on the board, but how do I do that? How do I know the number of troops occupying a space? How do I move troops from one space to another? What do the string of numbers mean when a battle has been fought? How does the blasted game actually work? It would have been nice if the modder had, you know, written some basic instructions!

I'm guessing nobody here uses that mod, so unless you can google a set of instructions for it???

I would watch some videos if the mod page is not giving you what you need to know, or maybe someone who used the mod will post here over the weekend. Google is a friend in cases like these.

Yeah, I found slightly better instructions for the mod on nexusmods, but there were still no instructions for the wargame itself. And there is a tutorial on youtube, but I didn't find that very helpful either. The wargame explanation again was severely lacking.
I guess I'll just play without doing the wargame
