Staff of Jyruk Gaulderson and Arcane Authority

I may have encountered a glitch but I'm not sure. I have Faendahl currently as my partner. He has a few staffs on him including the staff of Jyruk Gaulderson. Whenever I go to recharge his weapons, 2 of them show up. If I take one the other one disappeares. In my weapons it only shows one but when I give them back to him it shows up as 2. With the staff of arcane authority, I stole it from Nelacor in Winterhold and gave it to the dark elf in the Jarl's house. When I go to my partners weapons that also shows up and it doesn't say stolen. I don't recall picking up another one. Please help!!
