How many perks can you get in one playthrough?
I'm pretty new to Skyrim (Bethesda RPGs in general) so I'll just ask these noob-questions: Is it correct that you can gain at most 100 perks (1 per level up... up to level 100)?

It's just strange, because the normal ammount of perks you can buy (in addition to a mod I use that adds 400 more perks) is so high that 100 point to spent is really few... isn't it? Especially if you can spent up to 5 perk-points per skill... off course, its useless to level heavy and light armor the same way, but I would like to build a character that is capable of lockpicking, speech, alchemy, sneak and archery... but even with just these five "specializations" I wouldn't get far with only 100 points to spent in my entire playthrough (right?).

There's no level cap and once a skill hits 100 levels, you can reset it to 15 and level forever. It takes time but this means there are infinite perk points to be gained.

I mean, theoretically you can just keep leveling until you've got all the perks by resetting and re-levelling skills.

But you really, really don't need every perk on every tree. You don't even need every perk on the trees you do use, especially if you use mods that add new perks (Ordinator, for example, is balanced around NOT doing that, if you had even all the perks in a few trees, you'd probably end up pretty bored as there would be no challenge left, you'd wipe the floor with everything.)

The idea is to specialise, make a character who is great at a few things, good at some things and maybe okay at others, and you will be more than capable of handling what the game throws at you. I have had characters who only used five skills AT ALL (did not gain a single level in other skills) and they were more than playable.

Apart from anything else, it adds to replayability to have new skills to try next time.

try lover stone, that do change everything to all skill and not just specific
https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Standing_Stones

ps.
then it do change if you even boost with a perk, and could be seen as base boost, and you will be more reseved what you will go up in and dont fill the skilltree, unlesss that is what you want to that charecter you making, ( its like you and base skill up to 100 that dont mean you have any point in it and dont want to. )

and thats why many ofcause , have Dragon Soul to ( 1 to 1) perk point ( seen as the missing point game was ment to have , and you can fill whatever up to see fit , speech lockpicking or other things you always wonder i cant afford point for because you always did the nessary point to most have and not have point enough to waste on diffrent things.

dont get me wrong here. try see the point why you kill Dragons then all is learned and you can earn perk per kill. this is still alot of dragon kill and make sense why you hunt them down. and it will take many kills this just make it alot more fun, ( and as dragonborn you already is unbeatable then you hit 75-80+ so you might discover point/perk or not wont change this )

as i said its matter of choise or you just see it wont make a any diffrence with the already walk on earth GOD ( Dragonborn ) i have play both without and with that more perk, no big diffrence
so IMO. why play without it and not open the boost skill tree faster., again just imo.
do as you want. this is why mods was made and allowed.

keep in mind it still require you use point in right places untill the whatever type or want to be.
and it wont change a thing if you want to be a thief or DB then you go though game.
its matter of take all in and do most or select the few skilltree you focus on. and you will never have enough point anyway.

and everything is simple matter of use mods or not.

to go past 80+ is very hard to level up you will see how slow that xp is. and most simple stop focus on it. ( you can complet game faster before 90 so not sure its fun run around you most really like the view if you keep playing after that. most will rather start a new class up.
