Freki
any one know how to get rid of this consarned dog? I've tried dismissing him, telling him to go home, telling him to stay in a certain location, telling him to wait here, but he just stays at my side

Uhm... Freki?

I can't find the mod reference.

It is added by the mod Winterhold Fully Restored - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/10428

Or at least this same problem is mentioned in the Posts section there:

We would rather you ask, then not ask an end up borking your game. Enjoy! And stay safe and healthy!

I know I'm very late but disabling and enabling Freki has fixed the dialogue for me and I was able to dismissed him.

You can't remove a mod and continue on a save without problems (they might take time to appear).
You need to load a save from BEFORE you installed the mod.
