Better vampire lord mod and LOOT problem
Hello,

I use this mod : https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2659

But LOOT say :

This file is corrupt and should not be used.
This plugin has a header version of 0.94, which is less than the game's minimum supported header version of 1.7.

When i use it, transform take no problem, revert form too. So, It is a false alarm ?

Uh... well that mod's comment section is a complete dumpster fire. I wouldn't use that mod.

My opinion aside though:
It says in the description to ignore that warning.

"FALSE ALARMS
If you are using BOSS/TES5EDIT/LOOT, they might give false alarms.
Just ignore them, they won't damage your saves in any way"

You have to read the descriptions of mods you use or you are indeed going to run into an issue sooner or later even if this mod may not be it.
I have seen the mod issue, but i prefer have the opinion of community (who had better experience in mods).

So thanks for your answer (the "dumpster fire/wouldn't use that mod" disconcert me : why).

I'm french, i hope i make correct sentences in my expression).

I wouldn't install any mod that advised me to ignore errors.

No, nor would I. Nor do I. I said as much. However if this board has taught me anything, it's that saying "don't use this," and leaving it there gets one called a troll, and makes people defensive.

@Draco -

I believe that was a question? Well beyond what wolf said (don't use something telling you to ignore an error), which I agree with:

- there are also a number of comments saying that the behavior is simply broken

- the author has abandoned it, and modding in general. So if any of the aforementioned comments are true, do not expect the situation to improve

- calves are missing (though apparently that can be worked around?)

- accusations of theft, though those seem largely unsubstantiated.

and that's just 2 pages of comments. There are probably more reg flags in there, but by that point I was sufficiently driven off.

Agreed on all counts. There's probably a better mod out there that does something similar. Avoid this one.

Yes, it's just a question^^

Unfortunaly not : the only i foud was this two mods :

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/28384

-> When you are change in vampire, it make your equip stuff diseapear, and transform make temporaly your caracter naked. If you want wings, you need three other mods.

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/27496

-> Don't work and make Harkon very strange.

The Better vampire lord transformation make clean transformation in vanilla form whithout ugly appearance but human winged. There is not a lot no-ugly VL form for SSE, it's the problem :(
Any mod that has a lot of issues listed in the posts section or which requires the user to basically do their own editing to make it work, AND which the mod author states that all errors should be ignored (!!!!!!!! - are they serious????!!!), should NEVER be used - regardless of how good it may look or sound. All too often, the problems that people have with their game are caused by their own insistence on using poorly made mods (besides other poor modding practices as well).

I have one golden rule - If a mod has issues or doesn't work, or even looks like it might from reading the Description and Post pages, then dump it.
If I understand : if there are not fixed bugs in bug section or error in description, i must ignore the mod ?

Yes, i'm a newbie in modding, reason of my post.

General rule of thumb - the greater the number of posts stating that there is a problem or that something is wrong, the greater the likelihood that there actually IS something wrong (even the best mods can have people saying there is a problem - but sometimes it is simply on the user's part). Avoid these unless a reliable forum regular says otherwise. (See pinned topic Helpful Links and References, Section 6, Miscellaneous - Reliable Forum Regulars, for a description of who these people are)

If the mod author is telling you that you should ignore error messages relating to their mod - well, the question is, why didn't they fix the mod in the first place so that there are no error messages?

These are just two of the right in your face things to look for when checking out mods (though, to be honest, I have NEVER encountered a mod author saying to just ignore any error messages their mod may generate - this one is a first - and that in itself makes it one that should be avoided).

Now, depending upon how much of a newbie you are, you may want to check these two guides out for lists of mods having NO issues:

For the beginner:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1986067552

And for the intermediate level:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=929828423

And a good general reference resource is the pinned topic Helpful Links and References

And, as always, if you have a question, your best bet is to ask.

One last thing - sometimes LOOT gets things wrong as regards error messages or stating that mods should be cleaned. LOOT is a sorting tool - not a diagnostic tool. As to LOOT saying a mod needs to be cleaned, read this:
