WTF!? Walking Up Those 7000 steps.
I saw an Ice Troll and I lost my virginity. He literally fu@#ed me. Why would they put an ice troll on the road to a quest that is impossible for me to kill at this point? Just curious.

Not impossible in any sense

It's not impossible to kill, and you aren't required to kill it.

Well he one shot Lydia and my arrows were not even hurting his health. I would need to probably shoot 300+ arrows to kill him and I don't even have that much arrows in my inventory lol.

spolier alert

there are at least 3 troll's and a bear on those 7000 steps to High Hrothgar, you can get paid to go up there from a village town member too

I can 1 shot it with a spoon from 300 feet away through a rock. What is the issue?

Well, nothing says you have to be low level here (you can do the main quest at any time; I was level 50ish by the time I actually went up to the graybeards this time). Ranged attacks, particularly fire attacks, can help, or if all else fails, knock it down with Unrelenting Force and kite it all the way up the mountain.

You don't have to kill every hostile creature/person.

You can out run enemies or sneak past them.

Sometimes potions will help. Like the paralyze potion.

Fire works well on the troll too since they cant regen fire damage

Ice Trolls are very strong. If you cannot fight it yet, just run past it. Maybe you need to leave Lydia at home though. In case she wants to keep fighting it.

this is why I chose to level my character early on before doing quests, especially avoid the citys whenever you possible until your ready to do dawnguard so nobody gets killed.

I remember a mod for the original skyrim that had a plaque commemorating a dead fans relative on one of the steps at nexusmods site when the game first came out
