Mods option disappeared from menu
I noticed this a long time ago, but thought it was because of an update.
The mods option from the main menu has disappeared entirely, and I don't know why.

man this is all the way from 2016 haha, got no fix here but hoping you find one. maybe try making your own thread for it.

I had the Mods and Creation Club options disappear from my main menu, and it doesn't seem significant until you realise that the Creation Club stuff doesn't work either. It is a problem. For me, survival mode wouldn't activate at all.

I found that it was a mod causing my problem. For me it was the Truby9 Ultrawide mod. I ended up isolating it to that. I'd recommend disabling mods one by one and keep loading the game to the main screen until they reappear. Once they do, enable them one by one again until you find the culprit.

I only use the Bethesda.net mods bc I'm too lazy to set up Vortex and go through all the searching and stuff again.
My CC stuff works, and *some* mods are enabled, but others are just not enabled even though I did have them enabled. Option is gone too.

got the same problem but if I rolled back to the SE version the mods menu appears.

It sometimes disappears during the current update, I suggest y'all start filing Bethesda support tickets if you want this fixed.

I discovered a single solution, install vortex (nexus mod manager), open the game from vortex and you will have the mods menu active

I play skyrim via vortex and the mods menu is currently not active.

yeah, just had the same issue after installing a menu mod - MODS in the main menu just dissappeard.
fixed it by deleting the problem causing mod from Skyrim SE Steam folder -> Data Folder. if you dont know what mod causes you have to delete all i think :( but at least the Mod option is back. Cheers

Just had this problem for a moment, too. Turns out it was the "Dear Diary - Dark Mode" mod from Nexus. :( It's a shame because the diary interface was one of the main reasons I wanted to switch to PC from Xbox...

To be more detailed, for some reason it added a screen to the main menu that changed the look of everything, but didn't add back Creation Club or Mod Menu links. Not sure why; maybe it's just outdated? Anyroad, posting this in case anyone else in the future has the same difficulty.

(Many thanks to Vohki, because I didn't realize I could launch the game through Vortex! Made going through the Nexus mods a TON easier!)

Maybe it was because of selecting the option that removes CC and Mods menu?
Dear Diary (dark and regular) both have the option to remove CC and Mods from the menu,
It is the default setup.

Another thing, 99% of this thread came about before Dear Diary Dark Mode existed.

It's because of Vortex. Go to C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition and delete the file loadorder.txt as it belongs to Vortex and somehow breaks the mod menu. Then go in game and re-enable all your mods.

Vortex will automatically regenerate the file when you launch it so don't worry about deleting it.

That's the first I've ever heard that. Nexus has WAY more mods than will ever appear on Beth.net. Which ones do you think are exclusive?
uhhhh try sp0crates Amazing race tweaks every single one except high and elf and plenty of mod authors have exclusive mods on Bethesda.net also it's absolutely tied to either vortex or the downgrade patcher i'm doing some testing i'll get back to you

edit: found a fix uninstall reninstall an up to date version of skyrim (or just delete all the files and verify in steam) and run it FROM STEAM then downgrade it if you use SKSE mods as none of those are updated yet and reinstall all your mods
