Graphical glitch: 3/4 of the screen is black!

So I haven't had any issues until last patch, which pretty much borked my game experience by making 3/4 of my screen black. I can still see myself and the menu can be accessed as well, but the screen lingers in black until I load the game again or exit and re-enter an area.

Has anyone had this problem? First I thought it was my software so I updated drivers and whatnot, but since it didn't work I am thinking it's a mod. However, it's hard to pinpoint which one and was wondering if anyone could help me figure this one out (as in maybe you modded it as well and already know which mod is causing this -- or, if not, if something else is going on).

tl; dr: My screen glitched out and 3/4 of my screen is black. Need help. Check image. Kthxbai. :happy_creep:

Are you still having this problem? I have a modded SSE and have just run into the same problem. If you haven't figured it out, maybe we can both get to the bottom of it. Or, if you've gotten the solution, I'd love to hear what it came out to be.

Was fighting through it and turns out it was a mod affecting Candlelight. If you have any, delete it and you should be able to proceed.

What mod was it for you? i have the same glitch and i've tried removing any mod that might affect mage light and i still have the issue. i really don't want to spend a couple hours disabling all my mods to norrow it down.

It's been a while since this happened, but it was one that affected the duration AND luminosity of Candlelight... I think "Improved Candelight and Magelight" was the name.

you need to start a new game then, removing a mod midgame, the save will stiil have the scripts in it.

Holy hell am I late. Anyways a very easy way to fix this is opening the console command (~ by default) and type 'showracemenu' and you dont need to change anything just press done and you dont need to change the name either

I'd like to give this the love and appreciation, once again, per year that others seem to have done. bravo, sir. now, i wonder if the mod for racemenu (if it's not coopting something official) knows about this bug? I wonder if that mod is the solution not the problem?

fixed it, start unmodded skyrim and check the resolution, mine was not the correct one
