Sneak stopped working ? 100 with all perks

As the title says. I made a new character for a sneak build and it was going fantastic till it just stopped working. I have no idea what went wrong. I found many old posts that sounded like a similar issue but have not seen it ever be resolved on any of the posts.

It seems to me it has to be one of the perks bugging it out. I have full light armor, using daggers like I did 1-100 sneak. Even when I first hit 50 sneak it seemed to be working great but it was only after grabbing a few more perks that it seemed to just stop working. Specifically it seemed like once i took 4/5 of the first perk at sneak 80 it just stopped working almost all together. Just regular cave bears will wake up from sleeping while im 30 yards away and come attack all while im sneaking.

Also the sneak 100 skill does work still. If i crouch I go invisible for a second and they lose me but soon as im out of invis they instantly spot me even though im still in sneak and far away. Even with the 100 perk I cannot lose an enemy by sneaking no matter what I try. Anyone able to help or at least confirm that there is a bug at too high of sneaking?

I just noticed my sneak on my main character is not working anymore either. Its at 80 but with all the same perks as my new character.

Yeah I can't sneak at all anymore. No matter what I do I get detected from long distance. I'm considering just starting over and playing a warrior or someting. 100 sneak just doesnt work.

Nope mine is fine, enemies are blind as a bat. And the top perk is really just to lose aggro if you're with a follower the enemies will switch to him/her.

I heard its related to the fact that when your perk level its too high it will act like a serious nerf toward the perk

Find a way to reduce your sneak level/effectivity, you have to be way above what its supposed to be, be it with or without mods (try not using enchantement)

Well if this is the case I should be bugging too, yet my sneak work as intended.

similar things happened to me before. I once used restoration loop to create an insanely high fortifying pickpocketing equipment, but it seemed not working at all. While a reasonable one did increase the success rate.

Do you have a follower?? They can give you away. Serana seems to trip every trap in sight...

I am using 0 mods and 0 console commands. I want to make sure I get all trophies. It still happening and appears to be once I hit a threshold of somewhere around 120-140% sneak with all buffs that it starts to go massively down. It almost seems like it is buffing the enemy detetection range like its having an opposite effect. I finally gave up and put my sneak on Legendary. I have it back up to 50 now and with only 2/5 taken in first tier and I am almost undetectable. It has something to do with going over 100 sneak.

Also I have tested it already. I made a brand new toon and just did the sneak/one handed trick in the cave. Once I hit around 90 sneak and put 4/5 in first tier it was already getting worse without leaving cave. The guy started to be able to see me as it got higher.

Anyway you can use mod with mod achievement enabler installed. It's in Nexus.

Yea I dont want to use mods at all. Just stand alone game.

tip only one point in the first perk incase you put enchant on and/or become vampire.
