Stats - Assaults ?
So i checked my stats in the menu. And noticed that there are 7 'assaults' under 'Crime' tab. What does that mean ??? I never attack ppl for no reason, but i do kill anyone that attacks me.

if they turn hostile from failed intimidation and you attack and kill them then its counted ingame as an assault. good way to prevent it is pacify and harmoney works up to level 26 unless you a vampire then it works 25% thats round 6 levels higher so works then up to level 32 enemies.

Never got to do that yet. I just started playing, only level 12.

as said as long the crime gives no bounty dont worry. and once the guards start saing
I know you hit him once and lower the weapon it will be an assault but you can then pay for it or go to jail.
with speechcraft high enough you can persued them to ignore you.
and if thief guild member you can make them clear your bounty for a cheaper price.
to join Thiefs Guild travel to Riften.

Any person you hit first before they show as an enemy is an assault. Long range bow shot before they show as a red dot on your compass = assault.

Also anyone that happens to get in the way in a fight, like fighting the dragon near whiterun and a guard runs across your flames path

Hmmm.... I'm using a greatsword, so i think there may have been some friendly fire in some battles... Not sure if that counts as assault, since they didn't go hostile.

Ive gotten additions to assault when adventuring in dungeons where magi are, frequently. As said before, long range bow shots are the biggest offender for this. Ive also gotten them though through spell casting and trap usage. Just another minor bug from Skyrim. Makes your stats pretty though.

I have found that attacking the draugr before they wake seems to count as an assault too.
You get an assault if you accidentally hit a friendly, which does not hit you back. Cause it's accidentally. And if you get an assault, if you hit a draugr before they are awake. Then you have a bug. Or i am missing at least 1000 assault's. I always take them out when they sleep.
